There was something terribly wrong with Azula. She was cruel by nature. She was following after her father. It brought Ursa to tears. Her own daughter, still so young, yet already with a heart of coal.

Azula had a habit of snooping and causing trouble. And Ursa walked into Zuko's room that night as Zuko said, “No, Father would never do that to me. He couldn't...” Oh, no. Azula had told him.

“Father won't do what?” Ursa said as she stepped in.

“Kill him,” Azula said smugly.

“Azula! We must talk.” She grabbed Azula's arm and dragged her out of a shaken Zuko's chamber.

“Sweet dreams, Zu Zu,” Azula said over her shoulder, sickly sweet.

Ursa then turned her daughter to face her in the corridor. “Azula, you musn't frighten your brother like that!”

“Oh, he's just a big baby.”

“Azula...”

“Well, it's true, isn't it?”

Ursa sighed. “You shouldn't go around eavesdropping. It will get you into trouble one day.”

“But Grandfather told Father he needed to feel the pain that Iroh did, losing his first son! Doesn't that mean Father's got to kill Zuko?”

“Azula! Stop it, now! This is your brother's life you are talking about.” Azula rolled her eyes. “Your father is not going to kill Zuko. Now, what if Azulon had decided your father needed to kill his daughter? Do you think Zuko would have come and rubbed it in your face? Would you have liked that?”

“But Grandfather wouldn't order Father to kill me. I'm a much better student than Zuko and Father himself called me a Firebending prodigy, today. Zuko fell on his butt infront of Grandfather. I'm much more valuable than Zuko. He's disposable.” The child was so full of herself.

“How dare you say such awful things about your own brother.  Azula, go to your room. I want you to think about what you've said and what I've said. Put yourself in Zuko's shoes. Goodnight.”

“Goodnight, mother,” Azula said sweetly, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
