Chapter 8

The next morning arrived and they all arrived at Karnak to see a train on the tracks. Rick, Ardeth, Lucy and Evy got off the balloon, Ardeth and Rick went to check the train, and the sister went into Karnak. Rick and Ardeth found nothing nor nobody on the train. Lucy walked past the black water, walking around to find Alex or anything that could lead to him. She walked through a walkway and turned to see a tie. Alex's tie.

"Rick!" Lucy yelled as she ran over to the tie. She picked it up and noticed something next to her feet. Rick, Ardeth and Evy ran towards Lucy, the boys' guns out ready to fire. Rick stood next to her as they all averted their eyes to where Lucy was looking

"Alex left his tie and he made us a little sand castle," Lucy said as they all knelt down to the floor.

"It's the Temple Island of Philae," Evy stated.

"They've gone to Philae," Lucy said happily knowing where Alex was.

"That-a-boy Alex! C'mon," Rick said as he helped Lucy up and they all ran back to the balloon.

They arrived at Philae to see Alex's coat. They grabbed the coat to see another sand castle Alex had made.

"The great temple of Abu Simbel," Lucy said, making Ardeth send Horus a note to where they were headed.

When they arrived at the temple of Abu Simbel they were still on the balloon, following the Blue Nile and any sign where Alex might be or headed. All as quiet and calm until the balloon started to shake a little. They heard a sort of rumbling noise in the distance, as they kept their eyes peeled for anything they saw. They heard then noise getting closer as Izzy gasped and looked behind him. A wall of water was coming straight to the balloon.

"We're in trouble!" Izzy exclaimed, making them all turn to see the wall of water. They continued to watch the water as a face came into appearance. Imhotep. Ardeth sent Horus off. Rick turned and looked to see an escape route they could use.

"Izzy! Come hard right! Starboard! Starboard!" Rick yelled and directed his hands to where to go. Izzy immediately turned on the engine and they went faster, making everyone loose balance, trying to hold onto something.

They continued to soar with intense speed but the water wall died down and they slowed down. Everyone stood up and looked around to see the wall had gone and they were safe.

"Was there a little something you forgot to mention? Hmm?" Izzy asked as he stood up.

"Uhhh, people," Jonathan said which made them all turn around. They saw the pyramid with a forest surrounding it.

"Ahm Shere," Ardeth said as Rick grabbed a telescope to see the pyramid with something at the top which made it shine in the sun.

"Right."

They all turn around to see the wall of water was making its way to them.

"Seriously!"

"He's back!" Lucy and Izzy said in union.

"Hang on!" Izzy said as the water moved faster and closer to the balloon. They again moved faster, making them all loose balance. Once they made it to the end of the Blue Nile, the engines stopped, making the balloon stop.

"Well that's not good," Izzy said as he ducks down, the water getting closer by the second.

"Hang on!" Rick yelled as the water hit the balloon, making it crash into the trees of the forest.

"We're gonna go get my son. Them we're gonna wanna get out of here fast, so make this work, Izzy!" Rick demanded as he grabbed the stuff out of the wrecks of the balloon.

"No, no, you don't understand, goddamit! This thing is filled with gas. Not hot air... gas. I need gas to get this thing off the ground. Where am I gonna get gas from around here? Huh? Bananas? Mangoes? What, Tarzan's ass?" Izzy complained as Rick finished getting all the guns and supplies he needed.

"Well maybe I could finagle with it to take hot air, but do you know how many cubic metres I'd need? It's too big!" Izzy continued to complain.

"If anybody could fill this thing with hot air Izzy it's you," Rick said to Izzy before he walked off. They all grabbed what they needed as Ardeth sent Horus off before they left.

"So, Ric, what's the plan?" Jonathan asked.

"Let's find some higher ground," he replied as they left.

They continued to walk, finding higher grounds but they had no luck so far. They stopped in their tracks when they heard a gunshot. Ardeth turned and gasped, hoping it wasn't Horus.

"Horus!" He called out but there was no reply, just silence.

"I must go," Ardeth said as Rick walked over to him.

"Wait."

"I must let the commanders know where we are," Ardeth argued.

"You can't go."

"If the army of Anubis arises-" Ardeth continued but Rick cut him off.

"I need you to help me find my son," Rick said with pleading eyes. He looked around to see everyone with expressions reading 'please help'.

"Then first, I shall help you."

"Thank you," Rick said as they walked off to the front and continued to search for Alex.
