The yelling grew once again louder as the doors of the old yellow bus opened up, poring out kids. Everyone parted their ways heading towards friends, lockers, or first classes.

Michael and I were the last ones to depart from the bus. We both parted our ways heading towards our lockers which were sadly, a hall apart. Just like the bus, the comments continued. I don't get why they call me names, i've never done anything to them.

It made me feel like crap.

"Hey Emily!"

I heard a voice call my name. I spun around on the heel of my vans. I turned around to see Luke.

"Hi luke." I said with a smile. I liked luke, he was one of my best friends too. Like Michael, we were similar.

Today, or should I saw everyday, Luke was wearing black skinny jeans with a plain black shirt, Luke and I were close, we have been neighbors since we were both three.

"You coming to our band practice tonight?" He said with a big smile. Luke always had the biggest smiles and I liked that, if you were sad he could instantly make me smile.

"Yeah." I grinned back at him and tucked a strand of lose hair from my braid behind my ear.

Did I have feelings for luke? No. Maybe. I don't know. Yes.

"See you there Em." He said smiling. My stomach churned whenever he called me Em. Normally I don't like it when people call me Em, but I was fine when Luke, Calum, or Michael said it.

I stood in the middle of the hall grinning like an idiot until the loud ring of the bell disrupted my thoughts of Luke carrying me off in the sunset while The Phoenix by Fall Out Boy plays in the background.

"Shiznit" I said under my breath as i ran to my locker trying to get my com right.

I yanked up on the handle to open it. The faded blue smelly locked swung open and i mentally prayed to God that i finished my Social Studies in class. I snatched my Soc studies book and binder and slammed my locker closed, sprinting towards the end of the hall where Social Studies is located.

Of course she closed the door, she wanted me to make a fool of myself, again.

I scowled at the door then knocked hoping we have a sub so they wont flip on me. The door swung open revealing a very pudgy, mean looking, old lady who happens not to be a sub.

"Uh-um i'm sorry Mrs. Burkhart..." I said looking down at my tore up vans. Everyone calls her "Bitchfart", I don't blame them.

"Oh look here, doesn't surprise me." She said with a monotone voice looking down at me. "This has been your 5th time this month." All of those times are because of friggin Luke. "Guess what that means!" She said with a smirk. Detention. "Detention!" she said with a laugh and a clap of her hands. She opened the door wider and guided me into the room over to her desk.

Snickers and whispering erupted in the room. I dragged my feet across the floor to her desk where she pulled out the dreaded pink slips.

"Hmm... Let's see here." She said filling out the paper.

"Disturbing class, check."

"Being late for class.." She looked up with me with a smirk, "Check." She snarled. "Great news, looks like it totals up for 2 hours tonight." She said handing me the slip. "You're lucky this time, now go sit down!" She yelled the last part and it caused me to flinch

"Okay class!" She said looking straight at me. "Lets read out of the book today.." She said while lifting up her huge teacher textbook as we pulled out our slightly smaller textbooks.

Yet again she looked straight at me.

"Emily..." She said with amusement. "How about you read the first paragraph for us on page 465?" She said with probably the biggest smile ive seen on her.
