Allie's POV
It was the end of our senior year, graduation day has passed and I've never felt more emotion before that day. Knowing that now our whole life's were ahead of us was scary but yet fascinating. From January to the start of June, Emily and I were able to gain a few hundred dollars or may a thousand. We aren't quit sure since we put it into a saved bank account once we got it. We also had our graduation parties which was as crazy as come be. They probably gained us around maybe three or four hundred dollars plus some gas cards from those who knew about the trip. Of course we had to tell our parents our crazy plan with all the details involved and surprisingly they were okay with us doing this and were willing to help out.
Emily's mom had a van which she was kind enough to let us take so we would have enough room. Yeah it wasn't very stylish but at least we'd have something to carry a lot of stuff and possibly sleep in, which we hope we won't have to. They also had secret compartments under the seats where we could keep important items like our backup money and laptops. We were going to start our trip in Vancouver, Washington since the trip from Seattle would drain us of energy the first night before heading to Portland, Oregon to stay a few days before heading to the great old state of California. We were stocked up on food that wouldn't go bad and so we wouldn't have to stop at drive throughs forever. We also had a box full of quarters for when we ran into a laundry mat to wash our bags of clothes. It seemed like we had everything we needed to make it through this trip. We even raided the music store buying the CDs we didn't have or even of people we've never listened to. It took a large box in order to hold all the CDs we we're bring but it was worth it.
We folded the back seats back and took out one of the seats in the middle to create more space. We put our important items in the compartment under the rug and placed the boxes of food on top of it where the seat was taken out. Our bags of clothes were put in the back along with blankets and pillows also laundry supplies.
Our parents kissed us goodbye but it was sorta hard to say goodbye to our siblings since we've grown up around them. Of course it wasn't goodbye for years on end but it was still emotional cause we knew waking up the next day they wouldn't be there. It took awhile to say goodbye but we knew we had to say goodbye and start up on this journey.
Emily was the driver for the first few hours then we would switch. For now I was in charge of the CDs played and the radio. I flipped through the box before pulling out a new CDs we had bought and one we knew very well.
"You have a choice here, we can listen to David Beckett or Demi Lovato," I laughed slightly as Emily whined at my first choices of music.
"Why can't we play Emblem3 first?" I shook my head before placing the new CD into the slot.
"Too late we're listening to David because it's time we learn some new music. Plus it took you too long." A song called 'Oh, Love!' began to play which had a great beat to it. I already knew by the beat that I was going to like this album.
We kept driving listening to the new music as I kept us update on what our favorite celebrities were doing in the latest gossip or their twitter updates. I felt like I was a part of paparazzi but just not as crazy. David's album ended and I have to say it was pretty good. My favorite songs though were 'Oh, Love!' and 'Girl You Shoulda Been a Drummer.' Emily agreed that it was a pretty good album also but I could tell she was starting to get tired. I choose Emblem3 as the next album to play because I knew it would wake her up.
'XO' started to blare through the van's speakers and I saw her facial expression grow into a huge happy smile. We jammed out to the whole song singing along the whole time.
Emily's POV
'I'm giving you the X's, X's
I'm giving you the O's, O's
I'm giving you everything in between
I saved it all for you.
So hit me with a yes
You gotta let me know
I wanna be everything that you need, I'll never let you go'
I sang as much as my voice would let me. As soon as the song began I felt overwhelmed and full of happiness as I always am with this song. It takes me back to the time where I almost ended it all until I heard this song on the radio and it made me feel better and loved. The boys of Emblem3 have really helped save me and I'm glad they did because the past few years have been a blast and knowing they're always going to be there for me with their enlightening sayings and their team inspire makes me feel great inside. I can't wait to go to L.A because I'll have a greater chance of possibly meeting them since they're off tour right now which is perfect timing!
I kept driving for a hour until Allie and I switched places with only a hour and a half left until we made it to Vancouver. I played the album 'Nothing To Lose' twice singing along each time before switching to their other short album 'Songs from the Couch, Vol. 1.' Relaxing back in the seat singing along while looking out the mountain at the scenery I've never seen before until now.
