Kodoku arrives at the gates of Anohana High School, only to have a sight on the girl he likes, sitting on a tree with one other friend of her's. Sitting in the shade, hiding from the hot, October sun of Japan. Her name is Jikan, she's in the same class as Kodoku.

Kodoku stood still on the concrete walkway to the main entrance of the building he's in. Kodoku stood there just wondering,

What could Jikan be talking about right now?

Ughhh... I gotta ask her! Homecoming is in three days, it's getting really late...

Kodoku didn't have the balls just yet to ask her at this time, he has talked to her before. Kodoku entered the school and went over to his locker to put his backpack in there and to grab his English materials.

Kodoku's friend, Duro, went to his locker right next to Kodoku's locker, "What's up, Kodoku!"

"H-Hey!" Kodoku nearly stuttered out loud. "I'm doing fine, how about you?"

"I'm doing just fine." Duro replied "Hey, are you going to homecoming?"

Kodoku looked at Duro really fast, "I'm planning to go..."

"You're going?" Duro said. "Who are you going with?"

"Uhhh..." Kodoku didn't want to say.

"C'mon!" Duro teased.

"I'm going with me, myself, and I..." Kodoku attempted to lie while he grabbed his English binder.

"Ha, nice try!" Duro said "Anyway, I'm not going to homecoming, I have other things to do at home."

"Like what?" Kodoku asked getting his notebook out of his locker.

"Or maybe I just don't want to go." Duro said, tensing up it seems.

"You don't have anyone to go with?" Kodoku asked.

"No... Although it seems the girls in this school just don't like me." Duro said closing his locker. "Even if I went, I would be that one lonely guy away from people."

"How so?" Kodoku closed his own locker too. "Why don't the girls like you?"

"I don't know, man..." Duro looked down "The girls I attempt to go out with just don't want to see who I really am."

Kodoku stood up straight to show he's paying attention. "Why would that be, and how can you tell?"

Duro sighed, "It's like on every girl I've dated, the girls just look at me weird, then they ditch me after the day of the date." Duro said. "Why? Is it because I'm skinny? Because I'm short? Because my hair is partially white, long and messy? Or maybe it's because I'm just socially awkward with girls... ?"

"I don't know man." Kodoku said "I mean look at me, my hair is long and frizzy, I'm really skinny, we're the same height. Listen man, take it easy, you'll find the right girl one day. I'm also socially awkward, probably more awkward than you."

"You think..." Duro said looking down again.

"Listen, you need to get rid of that, me too, I'm also saying this to myself as well. We can't be socially awkward and be hanging out with girls." Kodoku said.

Duro realized. "I think I got too carried away right there..."

"You're fine." Kodoku said.

The warning bell rung and both of us looked up at each other.

"I guess I'll see you later then, Ko..." Duro said.

"Alright, I'll see you later, Duro!" Kodoku bowed and walked separate ways away from Duro.

Alright, room 404, white room. Here we go.

Kodoku - Room 404, White Room.

Kodoku walked to his classroom not far from his locker. He sat down slowly on his assigned desk at the second to last row in the center.

Jikan walked inside the room, Kodoku noticed her. As Jikan walks to her desk, Kodoku smiled at her. Jikan smiled back at Kodoku and sat down at the desk right next to the left of him. Kodoku liked the way the windows are behind Jikan. It suits the scene perfectly for Kodoku's eyes.

Kodoku's teacher, Sensei Rukan, closed the sliding door at the front of the room. "Alright class! Today is Wednesday, October 10, 2018, Eight-Forty-Five in the morning. We are going to start class with, English! Get your notebooks out!"

Kodoku sighed.

Jikan noticed his sigh and looked over to Kodoku to check if he's okay.

"H-Hey, Kodoku?" Jikan whispered over to Kodoku.

"Dah!" Kodoku silently got suprised. "Y-yeah?"

"Are you okay?" Jikan asked worried.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm okay." Kodoku replied, as the teacher's words muffled in his ear.

"Are you sure? You just sighed, you got shook when I called you, and now you look, sad." Jikan said.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine..." Kodoku said. "Thank you."

Jikan leaned closer to Kodoku, who is looking down on his notebook, tapping his mechanical pencil on the paper. "Hey, why not have lunch with me at lunch time. We should talk!"

Uhhh... OH MY GOD, WHAT SHOULD I DO???

"S-Sure! I kind of d-on't have anyone to t-talk to at lunch eh-anyway." Kodoku replied.

"Great! Now, let's pay attention to class, shall we?" Jikan opened up her notebook.

So, we like each other, apparently. That's a good sign. Oh well, I guess lunch time is where it's going to happen I guess. I'll try to make the move.
