Auru picked up a bag and put it on the back of the carriage. "Now, stay safe, I've heard dangerous things coming from that mountain. I think it may erupt soon" said Telma. Auru laughed. "Don't worry. It does that from time to time. We'll be fine." Telma didn't seem convinced. "You focus on coming back safe when the mission is complete." Me and Shad went into the carriage. He sat next to me with a smile on his face. "Hey Callum." He seemed even more happy today. It must've come from yesterday's success. "Callum?" I looked into his eyes, they were shining bright. "When we get to Kakariko Village, I want to tell you something. Something that I have kept secret for a long time. I feel like it would be best to tell you." My mind wandered around this. What was he going to tell me? Beth came in and was rather joyful. "I'm so excited to meet Renado again."
She was so excited, that her feet started moving up and down. "He's a Sheikah, right?" She thought. "Well, he hasn't actually stated that. It doesn't seem to like to talk about his past. I wonder why?" I smiled. I think you'll find out today, possibly." Death Mountain is our next destination. It is rather hot, I've heard. Auru then went in front. "Are we ready?!" Beth shouted. "Yes!!" The carriage started to go. Shad waved goodbye to Telma who was waving back. "Tell us more about the Hidden Village, Callum?" asked Beth. It wasn't surprising that they wanted to hear more of my background. I was the black sheep of this group, really. The mysterious one. "Well, we have secrets. A lot of secrets. It's why we were attacked by monsters. Rather typical, really. My father was a man who was seeking something more than just knowledge. He wanted more. So, he planned to attack the nearest monster fortress. Sandrekta Fortress." Shad turned around.
"Where is that? I've heard nothing of the sort." Auru seemed to catch part of our conversation when he began speaking. "Sandrekta Fortress is in Gerudo Desert. Some describe it as a very dark place. Some describe it as a gateway to the dark lands. Most of them call it; 'Hylia's Bane.' It has quite a bit of history that goes back even to before Hylia's legends. If your father attacked such a base, he's got guts. The desert is treacherous. There was such a man who used that place but we never speak his name. It is a reminder of dark times." I knew of one such man but my mother told me never to say anything because it is banned in Hyrule but it is important to know the story.
"Do you know anything else?" Shad asked. "None that I know of but the world is filled with danger after the Twilight Invasion. You guys better be careful. Don't ever go to Gerudo Desert without some allies at your side. It is a fell place." Beth was fascinated but spooked. She looked out of the window. She could see a gate open in the distance. She also saw a familiar figure. "Luda!!!" We had arrived at Kakariko Village.
