We went to see the shaman poste-haste. "Renado!" He turned around quickly, surprised. "Beth!" He had a great big smile on his face. "Luda has explained to me the situation. Now, the only way to the Goron Mines is if you have permission to be there. I will send a letter to the Gorons and tell them that you're coming. However, I too am interested in Link's whereabouts. Have you uncovered anything, yet?" Shad stepped forward. "Yes. We have found out that he attempts to visit another world." Renado smile became that of concern. "Light and Shadow. They cannot mix. I hope he knows that." He was talking about the results of the Twilight Invasion. "The letter will take a day to be delivered. You can stay here for the night."

That Evening...

Shad had wanted to talk. To be honest, I was intrigued to what he had to say. "Callum, now, my story is a dark one. It is filled with pain. It revolved around my father. He was researching an ancient tribe called the Ooccaa. I have carried on his research. It has been difficult. My father searched everywhere for information and he often put himself in danger because of it. In one instance, he went into Gerudo Desert to find something. He came out, almost dead. Was he chased? It certainly looked like it. He had some flesh wounds but besides that, nothing of any particular worry. The man I coveted became a victim to the research he loved. My mother worried for him. When he passed away, my mother thought it was typical. He was trying to fulfill a dream, but he was looking in all of the wrong places."

This story was sad. It was heartbreaking. I did not know that he was keeping that heavy if a burden. "He was selfish, his love for his research got in the way of his family life. Somehow, I'd grow to admire him. What was coming, I didn't expect. I helped the legendary hero in Hyrule's hour of need and to this day, I should've went with him to see where he put that cannon. That cannon!!!" His fists slammed on his knees. I went to grab his arm. "Don't. I've only known you for two days Shad but yet you seem like a lifelong friend already. I can tell that your father made some incredibly bad choices. It sounds like he often put himself before you and your mother. The one thing you shouldn't accept is punishing yourself over spoilt research. The Ooccaa have been wrapped in mystery for such a long time. It was going to take a lot of time and dedication to fulfill it. Archaeology is a hard job. I'm sure you are going to find the answers you want. Not now, though. Not now."

He looked at me with innocent eyes that shone in the moonlight. They looked beautiful. I looked at him. I felt myself go slowly towards him as if in some daze. He did the same. Suddenly, the ground began to shake and Death Mountain was erupting. Everyone ran out. Renado walked up. "He's there."
