Act 2, Scene 6
Ten minutes before the midnight if you ended up having an unexpected encounter with someone whom you didn't think would sneak into your territory like thieves, what would you exactly do apart from glaring at the person?
Certainly, you're not going to welcome them in your house and offer them a glass of juice since they appear to have lost their energy nor you would pass them your charming smile to make their night resplendent but you would definitely drop the weapon you're holding on their feet and put your hands on the waist shooting glares at the person who will obviously wince after the dramatic fall of your spade.
Aashka exactly did all of that looking dangerously at the supposed intruder who now held his leg in pain after the girl out of shock and surprise injured him with her spade and all he could do was cry for mercy from his soon-to-be-sister-in-law.
"Devansh!"
"Seriously, you would sneak in my house like a thief!" Aashka accused crossing her arms over her chest.
Devansh bit his lip apologetically and held his both ears.
"Sorry, Bhabhi." He said pouting cutely and Aashka ended up chuckling seeing the way he called her Bhabhi. They talked a little on the evening of dinner and she never understood his reason to address her Bhabhi from first meet itself but for some unknown reason, she liked hearing it.
It made her feel respected by someone other than Harsh.
As Devansh saw her smiling, he couldn't help but ask, "So, am I forgiven for breaking in your home?"
"Only if you tell me why you call me Bhabhi when I haven't even said yes?" Aashka asked taking the chance to know him.
"Well, since the moment I saw your picture I have this feeling that we will always click together as perfect companions to trouble my brother," he laughed, and she shook her head, liking his sense of humour.
"But other than that, I saw the genuine woman in you who could stand beside my brother as his better-half and say the wrong as wrong and for formality sake won't term things in my family as right. So, in a way I think I realized your potential to be the daughter-in-law of my house who can help us change the dumb rules, yet you won't show off it as a favour done on us but would take it as a part of improvisation in the family norms." He finished showing his utmost sincerity to her and her eyes brimmed with tears hearing him.
Not everyday people see the real us, and even accept it gladly; seeing the way Devansh has accepted her and even considered her as the best choice for his brother, she couldn't help but feel touched by his words.
"Oh no! Please don't cry or else Big Brother will beat the shit out of me. At least, be on your only Devar's (Brother-in-law) side," he said melodramatically watching the change in her and she burst into giggles.
"Now, tell me Devar Ji, how did you get in and why are you here at this hour?" She asked raising her brows, and excited to see someone was matching his playful side Devansh clapped his hands in glee.
"Well, this will answer how I got in," he showed her a set of tools and Aashka understood that he switched off the server of the alarm and climbed the gate.
Men could be intelligent too when they want; isn't it?
"I tried calling you, but you didn't receive the call so I've to enter here this way since I'm not sure how your parents would've reacted to our unplanned visit," he said and Aashka mentally face-palmed herself for forgetting to take her cell-phone from her night-stand.
