Heathers P.O.V
I took them first to the outshirks of the town. It was mostly just houses here and there and then a movie theater and arcade. We stopped at the arcade because Mike can be pretty persistent when he wants to be.
After that, we worked our way inwards. Evan and Sarah joined us at some point and were making jokes that made everyone laugh or at least crack a smile.
Well, except for Camryn. She doesn't seem to laugh or smile as much when it isn't her friends she is talking to. If you aren't her friend, good luck trying to talk to her. I have seen people try to talk to her, she just stares at them coldly until one of her friends answers for her. What made her so cold and closed off?
I wad brought from my thoughts when I was nudged a bit. I turned to see Camryn looking at me.
"You okay?" She asked calmly.
"Y-yeah, I'm fine." Why was I just spending all of that time thinking about her? Normally I don’t do that with anyone...maybe it is just because she is new, yeah that's it. She looked at me carefully and opened her mouth but was cut off by Sarah screaming excitedly. I watched as she jumped and started to get into a fighting stance until she realized that she was just excited. Weird.I look over to my right and see a skating rink that had pounding music and lights flashing. How did I not notice this before?
Because you were preoccupied with thinking about someone.
Whatever.
Without thinking about it, I just grabbed Camryns sleeve and dragged her along with me while yelling out, "Come on guys, this will be fun!"Sarah skipped happily over to us while the rest just followed reluctantly. We purchased our tickets for the skates and went into the building. As soon as we were in, my senses were filled with the smells of nachos, skates, and sweat. Not a great combo.
My friends and I skate every Saturday night so we have something to do over the weekend and we can scout out some cute boys and girls.
"Let's do this." I screamed nover the music once we all got our skates on.
This is going to be great.°°°°°°♧°°°°°°°
Camryn's POVAfter a couple of hours of skating, we were all battered and bruised. "Next time I will get that little brat." I mutter to myself as I look at the marks forming in my skin.
"What was that?" Heather asks
"Nothing," I amswered quickly and softly. This is why you don't plot things outloud, Camryn.
I was pulled out of my thoughts by someone waving their hands in my face. I snapped my head up to meet their eyes.
"Do you want to get some food with us?" Sarah asked. We were both in the back of the group and it seemed that everyone was already heading to a food place.
"Sure, I have nothing better to do." I shrugged. I watched as she smiled and walked away so she could talk to her friends.Well that was something, huh? See, you can make friends here. Yeah, yeah. Don't remind me. I almost chuckled at my ridiculousness. Seriously? I have already started to go mad and it hasn't even been a week!
We arrived at Red Robin shortly after that conversation with myself. After ordering our respective burgers and appetizers, almost everyone statted talking about some random things. None of it involved me, so I didn't contribute to the conversation until Sarah turned to me and asked,
"Where did you guys live before here?"
"Buffalo, up in New York." I answered.
"How did you all meet." Evan asked. I flinched slightly so the only people that noticed were Jesse and Mike.
"We met through some business with her uncle." Mike answered as Jesse grabbed my hand and squeezed it to try and comfort me. What they are saying is true, they did meet me because of business but, they were also there that day. They were there when my third foster father went crazy. Why did I get all the crazy Fathers?I never thanked them for saving me. That's right, I should thank them. Later. If I did it now, the others would question me and I don't want that to happen.
Finally, someone turned to me again, Heather.
"So..why do you guys all live with your Uncle." She asked quietly. I wasn't suprised by this question in fact, I was expecting it."My parents died." I stated trying to keep all of my emotions out of the sentence. I was still hurt that they left so soon. That they wouldn't see me grow into the person they wanted me to be. That I wouldn't see or hear them again. I clenched my fist together to stop the tears from running down my face.
Finally, I couldn't take it anymore. With everyone watching me, I placed ten bucks on the table before walking out of the building.
I need to be alone for awhile, I thought as I walked to the edge of the town and went into the woods. No more questions, no more answers. Just my own, scary thoughts.
This is going to be a long night.
