Hunter and I strut into the restaurant in an all eyes on us fashion, trying to look important because the truth is, we don't have a reservation and we really need to get in.

'Let me do the talking,' he whispers in my ear as we walk towards the host desk.

I stand to one side as he greets the man and he works his lawyer magic, although I do hear snippets of the conversation. He seems to be trying to charm the man, telling him how we forgot to make a reservation and that this is a really important night. I hear some shuffling and see Hunter handing the man a wad of cash he retrieved from his pocket. He then looks at me and gestures for me to follow him.

'You are truly a lawyer, I saw the money,' I tease him, 'How much did you give him, I'll pay you back.'

'Nonsense, I will not hear of it. Consider it a favor,' he takes my hand and leads me into the restaurant, following the easily bribed man. I make a mental note to give Hunter some money, I let him steer me through restaurant. The host leads us through some glass doors, which lead outside. We see Christian and a very attractive woman sitting straight across from the door.

'Hello brother, Pripri!' Hunter greets the couple when we reach their table. Christian greets his brother and then introduces me to the woman sitting with him.

'Sage this is my wife, Priya.' I shake hands with Christian and intend to do the same with Priya but she stands up and tenderly hugs me instead.

'It's so lovely to finally meet you Sage, Hunter doesn't shut up about you.' Priya says melodically.

Hunter blushes, 'Because he is my friend.'

'Hey Sage, Andres is four tables on your right, you can just see him from here.' Christian cuts in.

I crane my neck and see Andres with her. 'I'll be right back, best make my presence know,' I tell the Truair's.

I leave them and walk across the floor to where they are seated. Neither of them notice me approaching, too busy staring at each other. As I reach their table I am immediately taken back to Australia, when it was with Zoey. Only this time I'm not as distraught. Maybe I am used to it? Maybe I've had enough?

'Hello Andres,' I say loudly getting his attention. He looks up at me confused and then shocked.

'Sage, oh my. Sage! What are you doing here?' he asks turning red.

'Well I didn't want to spend my night alone at home, and since you had an emergency at the office I decided to invite Hunter out to dinner and we decided to come here. Coincidentally Christian and his wife are here as well, isn't that wonderful?' I say slowly, really taking my time. Andres spares a glance at the skimpily dressed woman across him. 'Say, what are you doing here, you said you were going to the office,' I ask with genuine curiosity in my voice. I really want to see the excuse he comes up with.

'Err, we finished early and I decided that since you will be with Hunter, Patricia and I should get something to eat before heading home.' I raise my eyebrow. How silly does he think I am? Or should I say how stupid. This restaurant requires you to make a reservation at least two days in advance, we got in because of a bribe. Furthermore, whatever he would have needed to sort out would definitely take more time to complete, I would know I run a company. Nevertheless I say nothing, playing dumb.

'Oh I see, well I let you two continue. I'll just be heading to Hunter then.' I don't wait for their reply, just turning around and walking away. A part of me still feels really sad and depressed but an even greater part of me is angrier at the fact that that he is doing this again.

I reach the table where Hunter is now seated, which isn't too far away from Christian and Priya. Hunter tells me that he already ordered something for me to eat, but I don't really pay attention. My head is filled with an empty buzzing. I keep wondering to myself, why and I not sadder about the fact that Andres is cheating on me. What has changed?

I look up to Hunter who looks deeply concerned. 'Why am I not more sad, why do I just feel disappointed?' maybe he can help.

'I would say it because maybe a part of you was expecting this to happen. Or subconsciously you knew this was happening and chose to ignore it. You have a new life now compared to what you had in Australia. Both of you have changed.'

I continue staring at Hunter, he has been really observant with everything, 'Maybe you are right, but what do I do now. Where do I go from here?'

'Well, you are leaving for Australia tomorrow, why don't you take some time to yourself while you are there and think about your situation with Andres. I know he's not coming with you,' he advises me. Ad maybe he is right. I should take some time to myself. Catch up with my friends, my family and take my mind away from the situation now. Maybe he will stop his nonsense.

'You are right, maybe I do need a break,' I tell him. 'So, how's everything at work? You said you were trying to navigate a really delicate case.' I move the conversation to something different, blocking the distraction that is nervously bolting from the restaurant with his Patricia.
