It was Wills birthday and all of the group were over at Will and Gees for the party afterparty including one of your close friends Stephen, Laurence and Brian. You and Stephen had known each other the longest with a friendship that has lasted around 3 years now and you both always looked out for one another. Especially nights like these.
Everyone was drinking. Excluding you. You weren't big on drinking at events like these because there's too many people for you to be sensible around. Stephen on the other hand, had too many drinks that night and was sitting on the couch, staring at his glass in front of him. You decide to take him home to your shared apartment because he was in a terrible state. You bump into Will and Laurence on the way. "Alright Y/N. Having a good time?" Will asks, seeming slightly tipsy. "Yeah I'm having a great time. Thanks Will" Will nods and walks away, his attention being drawn elsewhere, leaving you with Laurence. "You taking Stephen home then?" He asks, knowing you too well and also knowing that Stephen wasn't in the best shape. "Yeah. I think he's had enough. He lasted longer than last time tho" You and Laurence laugh and he pulls you into a hug. "Alright well, I'll see you later Y/N. Text me when your both home safe. Even though you both live in this building" You laugh again and nod. "Bye Laurence" You stroll over to Stephen who seemed to be mumbling to himself and drifting off. "Alright Stephen, come on bud. Let's get you home and into bed" Stephen moans in disagreement but eventually lets you help him. Brian walks over to you both, laughing at his friend. "Oh Stephen" he laughs again and shakes his head. "Glad I decided to hold back my alcohol tonight like" You nod in agreement. You struggle to keep Stephen up. "You taking him home?" Brian asks. "Yeah, thinks he's done for the night" He nods in agreement. He puts down his can. "I'll help you take him down. He's a struggle at times" "Thanks Brian" you both sling one of Stephens arms around your shoulders and begin to head out. You open the door and walk out into the empty hallway. As the door shuts behind you, the music becomes quieter and you begin to head to the lift. You reach it minutes later and press the lift button. "I'll take it from here Brian. Don't want you missing on too much" You say nodding towards the party. "Are you sure? I don't mind like" you shake your head. "I'll be fine" "Alright. See you later Y/N. And you too Stephen" Stephen mumbles. "Bye Brian" The lift finally comes and you fall inside with Stephen still leaning on your arm. "You okay Stephen?" You ask as you press the button to your floor. "Fine as a daisy love. Fine as a daisy" You laugh lightly. "Alright. We'll get you to bed soon"
Finally you reach your floor and you fall out the lift and tumble towards your apartment. "We're nearly there Stephen" He mumbles again and you open your apartment door. You turn on the lights and help Stephen on to the couch so you can shut the door. Once doing so, you walk over to Stephen and help him up before walking towards his room. You turn the light on for the time being and help Stephen under the covers. "I'm gonna get you a glass of water. And maybe a bottle to go with it" You say as you head to the kitchen. You collect a bottle of water and get a glass of water also before heading back to Stephen. You put the glass of water and bottle beside his bed. You run then run to a cupboard in the hallway and get out a bucket for Stephen incase he's sick and doesn't make it in time to the bathroom. "I'm gonna go to bed now Stephen but call out for me if you need anything" You go to leave but he stops you. "No... stay" He mumbles. He pats the spot on the bed next to him. "Please" You sigh and nod before getting in beside next him. He hugs you close to him and you laugh slightly. "I love you" you hear and you freeze. "What?" You ask, hoping you heard him wrong. "I reaaallly love you. Like lots n lots. Your really good looking" he repeats in a funny voice. 'It's probably the alcohol' you think before nodding off
