It was another trip for the XO team and you were getting dragged along. Brian was actually the one who insisted along with a little extra motivation from Laurence. The trip was for another football thing which you didn't have an interest in so you managed to slip your way out of that one. But you and the team had spent the day site-seeing and occasionally shopping (mainly Will though).
You had finally made it to the Eiffel Tower and Laurence was with you as you took pictures of the view and occasionally each other for Instagram of course. "This is got to be the coolest shit I've ever seen" you mumble to yourself, looking out at the view from the very top. "It doesn't get much more beautiful than this does it get" Laurence smiles and looks at you from your side and nods in agreement. "Yeah. Absolutely stunning" You don't realise that he was talking about you yet and just continue to focus on the view in front of you.
You continue to look around at the sites and continue to take pictures. "I see why this place is called the city of love by some people. Really is romantic. I mean, imagine a guy asking you out up here. Well, depends on the guy. Don't want a dickhead as you out here because that would just ruin the whole experience" Laurence let's out a laugh at your words. "Yeah. It would be really bad if the person who was asked, didn't have the same feeling for the other though, wouldn't it?" Laurence asks, his nerves getting slightly better of him. "I mean, yeah. But as long as they both can look back on it and laugh, then it's all fine" Laurence nods and looks down. You noticed this and decide to call him out on it. "You alright Laurence? You seem really down all of a sudden" Laurence continues to keep his head down. "Yeah fine. Just thinking about someone"
Your smile falters slightly at the news of this person. You had liked Laurence for a while, but of course never wanted to call him up on it because of the fear of embarrassment and you didn't want to lose a friendship over your feelings. No one on XO had really discussed it between the two of you, but sometimes they noticed that something was definitely there. "Who's the lucky girl"? You ask, a forced smile on your face. Laurence looks up finally, a small smile on his face. "She's a friend from work. Known her for a long time now actually. She does YouTube" You nod and continue to painfully fake smile. "Sounds like a lovely lady. Do I know her?" Laurence let's put a laugh and nods. "Very well" You furrow your eyebrows and shake your head. "Who is she?" Laurence's face drops and he begins to stutter. "Well I uh- she's uh" Laurence let's out a sigh and looks up, taking your hands. "It's you" Your face falls again and you remain speechless for a couple of seconds, which obviously makes Laurence panic and overthink. "I'm sorry. I just ruined everything and" You cut him off with a smile and a giggle. "You're a master of not letting people get an answer in, aren't you? Jeez barely get in a word here" Laurence remains nervous and unsure. "I like you too Laurence, if that's what your implying. I don't want to assume anything" Laurence's face breaks out into a smile and he nods. "Yes, that is definitely what I was implying" Your smile widens and you nod. "Well then.... what should we do?" You ask, and Laurence shrugs his shoulders in a casual manner. "I could take you out sometime? Or we can just start going out but I think I should to get to know my future girlfriend a little bit better before we just start dating" You laugh and shake your head at Laurence's humour. "Yeah sure. I guess that could work. Might have to see because I have all these other dates planned so" Laurence nods. "Of course I wouldn't want to get in the way of these other dates" You wink at him and before you know it, your back down at the bottom of the tower, the three other men of XO staring at you. "Alright lad and lass. So are yous too going out now?" Brian asks, being a little bit nosey as per usual. You furrow your eyebrows at how he would've gotten that so quickly but he stops your confusion by pointing at Laurence who was stood next to you. "Little blushing boy here got all excited and spammed me phone with texts. He's all giddy and happy. It's almost disgusting to be honest" You look at Laurence who is blushing and shaking his head at his friend, clearly embarrassed. "Well atleast he had the guts to tell me his feelings at the Eiffel Tower. Not many men have the balls to do that" Laurence smiles at your comment. Brian shakes his head, a smile pressed on his face. "Look at that. Only being going at it for like 15 minutes and she's already protecting him from me. I tell you, if this doesn't end in a marriage or even kids, I'm putting in a bad rating for love like" You look at each other again and shake your heads. "I mean I don't think we were exactly thinking that far ahead of our relationship but thanks Brian for being the planner" Brian winks at both of you and smiles. "Aye don't sweat it. I'm always here to either embarrass the shit out of you or just make you appear like the cheesiest couple alive"
