Just because Pancake Day is in 2 days
You and Stephen never really 'celebrated' pancake day and you were both either working or you just had plans else where. So today was the day you both decided to have a go and make pancakes.
The kitchen had been stacked up with ingredients and different things to put on the pancakes and it was finally the time to test yourself and Stephens baking skills... even though it was just pancakes, there was a struggle. "Stephen I think that's enough flour love" Obviously, Stephen didn't listen. "I've got this mate... no need to panic. Stephen Ramsey has this one in the bag!" You look at him and laugh. "Mate?" He turns to you and pecks your cheek. "Oh yeah sorry I forgot... I've got this lad" You shake your head and pick up the eggs. "How many eggs is it?" Stephen shrugs. "Just do 3 so we can have a large mixture" You shrug your shoulders and crack 3 eggs into the bowl. "Right that's about everything... so what do we do now?" Stephen asks with flour on his face. You giggle and shake your head before pushing him aside. "Now we put some of this mixture into the frying pan and try to make the pancakes" Stephen nods. "Seems easy enough"
Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Stephen readied himself up and held the pan away from the hob and got ready to flip his first pancake. "Alright.... watch out love... big boy Stephens got this" You gave him a look. "Big boy?" "Don't ruin the moment..." You shook your head and took a step back as Stephen readied himself. He flipped the pan and the pancake went up. You looked at Stephen as he readied himself to catch it. But the pancake landed on the flour. You burst out laughing while Stephen stood there baffled. "Right well that didn't exactly go to plan" He looked at you and tried to defend himself. "Oi... I'd like to see you master the art of pancake flipping... because believe me love it isn't as easy as it looks" You pull yourself together and walk over to the pan. "Alright... I'll have a go... just settle a bit there love alright" You say, laughing as Stephen folds his arms. You put some mixture onto the pan again and wait till it sets. When it does, you pick up the pan and take a step back, Stephen watching you do so with his arms still folded. You flip the pan and watch as it successfully lands back onto the pan. "Ha there we are" You say and put the pan back onto the cooker. You look at the grumpy Stephen next to you. "Do you want another go?" You ask but Stephen shakes his head. "Fine...how about you take a seat and I'll make us a few pancakes and then you can decorate them" He sighs and nods. "As long as there will be whipped cream" You walk over and peck his cheek. "Of course"
Finally, a batch of pancakes is served with Stephen sitting prepared with the whipped cream, syrup and some fruit. "Yes lad!" He shouts before creating what he calls a 'masterpiece'. "Your such a child sometimes" You say laughing. He pecks your cheek with his lips covered in syrup and you shake your head, laughing at the state of your boyfriend. "Do the same next year?" Stephen asks, carrying the plates to the sink. "Yeah sure. We can get you pancake flipping lessons before that"
