But lord knows I didn't know that I was only renting the space
Or that I had anonymous roommates
Who you had the audacity to introduce to me.
I stand here on your door step
Looking at you pretend to not be the man I loved more than
The ocean loved the rain
And I feel the anger swell
In my lungs suffocating me
I fight back the tears
Because a love like ours was supposed to be legendary
But I forgot legends only happen
After something has died.
The part of me that was you
Has been tearing itself away from me
After 5 months
For 4 days
I spent 3 hours
Finding 2 ways
To say 1 thing...
Give me back myself
I want the person
Who found happiness in the sun
Kissing her cheek
And complete peace when
The night had read me
The Tale of 2 lovers
Under a sky covered with
Stars filled with wishes.
Do you remember the wish we made?
We wished that our love
Would surpass father time's watch
But it seems it simply ran out of time.
So since I'm here
On your unwelcoming doorstep
I ask you to return my heart
I can't sign the lease
Back into myself
Without my love as the deposit.
