BASED OFF OF S5E2: BLOCKED

"You disappear in the future?" I ask again for the hundredth time today.
"Yes. Why is that so hard to believe?"
"Because... Wait, are you taking our daughter on a villain hunt?" I leap out of Cisco's office chair at STAR Labs.
There's a long pause. "Uh, no?"
"Bartholomew Henry Allen, you are not doing that if this woman crushed an entire human being into a cube of meat." I grab my suit, "I'm coming over. Do not let Outlet anywhere near her."
I teleport the second I get my suit on and end up on a darkened street behind a parked car. Barry and Hope look at me, Hope is more alarmed.
"Hoooow did she do that?" she questions.
"Oh I can tap into ...your dad's lightning and can most of the time pop-up where he is."
"Shway," Hope comments. "That is so bitchin'."
"Okay, Hope, you check the scene for evidence, while Sky and I-- Hope, come back here!"
Hope takes off like a rocket and tosses the guy Vanessa Jansen has put in a see-through yellow cube. Her hands light up with yellow electricity, mirroring a combination of mine and Barry's powers.

I immediately teleport into the fray and try to intervene. But unlucky for all of us, Hope is now inside one of Jansen's cubes.
"Vanessa Jansen," Barry gets her attention. "You don't have anywhere to go."
"Oh, I see. You want me to put my hands up." Jansen flings Hope up into the sky.
"Go get Outlet, I got her," I shout to Barry. Barry speeds away, while I go after Jansen. I shoot a wave of energy at her, but it gets blocked by her cube, and her giant cube smacks right into me like a ton of bricks. When I get to my feet, Jansen is gone.

Cisco is having some sort of crisis, so Caitlin sums up his words

Cisco is having some sort of crisis, so Caitlin sums up his words. Vanessa Jansen's cubes as so compact and dense that speedsters cannot vibrate through. That would also explain my electricity not being able to penetrate, since like the atoms of metal, it reflects the power of energy.
"So bottom line is, we're going to have to wait for Vanessa to make her next move. Since our satellites and Cisco is down," Barry concludes. "Hey, Hope. I've got something that might help on your superhero training?"
   "Really?" Hope looks overjoyed, "shway!"
I raise my eyebrows at Barry, "superhero training?"
"Yeah, why not?" Barry shrugs. "I had superhero training."
   "By a supervillain. And I didn't have a teacher," I point out.
"Well, a speedster teacher is definitely what Hope needs right now."
"Remember, she's basically a kid trapped in an adult's body. She's going to do some kid stuff, like not listen and tell how much she knows."
"You sound like you already know how parenting works."
"Its not that hard, but you go teach Professor Allen," I grin.

After some time of looking for Vanessa Jansen, and Iris using the meteorologist's barometer, we find her in a rough spot. Hope and Barry get rid of the armed people trying to shoot her down with guns. Barry creates wind tunnels to tie her out, only for her to lock him in a cube. Then she starts to close it on him. I light up energy and try to stop her, but Jansen ends up shooting multiple of the air cubes at me. I teleport to get out of her way.
"Outlet," I yell to Hope. "Start running!"
Both Hope and I attempt to keep Vanessa preoccupied until she tires out again. Then Hope slaps a pair of power-dampening cuffs on her.
Ralph and Cisco appear from a breach, a moment too late. Across the loading dockyard, the sound of buzzing echoes off the cargo holds. Then a glowing orange lightning bolt made of stone-like material flies out of nowhere and stabs Vanessa Jansen in the shoulder.
"Outlet, get her to the hospital," Barry tells Hope once a hooded figure appears. The stone bolt goes back like a boomerang to its owner. "Outlet, now!"
Hope grabs Vanessa and races to the hospital. Barry, Ralph, Cisco and I stare at the newcomer. He throws the lightning bolt again and this time it lands on the ground, imbedded into the asphalt.

The stone lightning bolt flashes brightly and sucks in our powers. I look at my hands in shock as rays of my electricity get stolen from me. I'm powerless.
"My powers are gone," Barry says.
Cisco tries to vibe, "I have nothing."
The mysterious hooded figure walks forward, and Barry tries to make a swing at him. Together, we all take punches at him. Ralph, Barry and Cisco all go down fast. I am the only one who can because I'm the one trained in martial arts. Training with Oliver, Dick and Bruce is finally paying off, if this is the day my powers are no more.
I roundhouse kick, upper arm block, and suffer from a few bruises. This guy is good at fighting, but when you're taught by Bruce Wayne, its pretty hard to go down without a couple decent blows. A uppercut to the jaw, another punch to the solar plexus, and a spinning hook kick to the shoulders. Still, the guy can land a solid hit. I spot Cisco going for the metallic lightning bolt in the ground. Rule one of hand-to-hand combat: never take your eyes off your opponent or his weapons, especially the opponent. I remembered that at the wrong time.

With a swift kick to my abdomen, I fall on the tar gasping for air. I hear a loud, painful yelp from Cisco. I glance up, blurry eyed from my agony, to see a slightly bloody lightning bolt. Vibe must have gotten cut. Trying to get to my feet, I stumble and wrap an arm around my gut as it aches. The hooded figure towers over Barry, who lies there wounded. The sharp bolt is in direct line if his chest.
"No," I rasp, starting to fear for Barry's life.
A streak of light appears and the royal-blue suited form of Hope arrives.
   "Dad!" she screams in alarm.
The hooded figure stops at the sight of Hope, then he walks away, just as sirens sound in the distance.

Caitlin, Cisco and Ralph walks out of the medical room in STAR Labs

Caitlin, Cisco and Ralph walks out of the medical room in STAR Labs. Cisco's hand is bandaged up, and so far he can vibe, so our loss of power isn't permanently gone. Iris has pulled up a video she found at Barry's work, while looking for a lead for her blog. We all stand and watch the brief clip.
"I don't see anything," Ralph states.
"Its not seeing, its hearing," Iris tells him.
"That's the sound are the dockyard," I realize.
"Its a buzzing and hissing noise. Like an insect," Barry says, crossing his arms.
   "Just like Cicada," Hope states.
We all look at her. Barry furrows his eyebrows, "Cicada?"

Author's Note
Don't get mad at me! I know I already tackled Cicada before the tv show, but I didn't even know they were going to use him, I swear. Just like I didn't know they'd take my title for 'The Wrath of Savitar'.
I called it people, The Cicada Cult is a thing!

Yeah, so anyway... give this a vote if you liked it! Byeeeeeeeeeeee!
