I woke up very comfortable. I was warm, Liam wasn't crying, and I didn't have an early shift at work.

I lazily opened my eyes and looked at the time on my phone.

8:32

I hummed and put my head back down.

Wait. 8:32?

Liam should be awake by now, he should have been waking me up. What is wrong?

I sat up and looked in his bed, and he wasn't there.

I started to freak out.

Where is my son?!?

I ran down the stairs while dialing 911 when I smelled the sweet smell of pancakes.

I looked in the kitchen and saw Liam in the arms of Asher, who was making pancakes. After seeing Liam was alright, I hung up the call.

"Asher. What are you doing here this early?"

He turned and smiled when he saw me, but then furrowed his eyebrows.

"What do you mean? You asked me to stay the night."

I scrunched up my face in confusion, but then it hit me.

"Oh, yeah. I remember now."

He gave me a look of sympathy.

"Why didn't you wake me?" I asked him.

"I wanted to let you sleep. You have not been getting sleep and after the fiasco last night, you needed it. Plus, it gave me and Liam some much needed father-son time."

I nodded.

"Mama."

I looked at my son and smiled.

"Hi, baby." I kissed his cheek.

Asher offered for me to hold him, but I declined. He doesn't get to that much and I just wanted to think.

"I know now might now be the time to say this, but I really want you both to move in with me."

I took a breath.

"Let me finish, even if we aren't together I was you to be closer because I can protect you better."

I thought about it for a bit. He served the pancakes and eggs and we ate. As we were cleaning I finally broke the silence.

"Ok."

He looked at me confused.

"Ok, what?"

"Ok, Liam and I will move in with you."

"Really? No fights, no arguments, just ok?"

"Yeah, last night made me really appreciate you. And see that we could use more protection."

"Well, um alright then. I will get some people to help move your things. And, um, just a question. What about your job?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, I mean you are not protected and very vulnerable there. So, I was thinking since you will live with me, you wouldn't have to work if you don't want to. Or if you wanted to work I could get you a job."

I thought about it some more.

I have always wanted to be a stay at home wife/mom. And I have the chance to do that now. I could make some friends, I could do a bunch of things I couldn't necessarily do with a job.
