Chapter 31: A Night Of Change

I was in the limo with Niall heading to Louis to meet everyone, it was prom night. I felt beautiful, my hair was curly and I was wearing my blue silky dress. Niall matched, he was wearing his black blazer with a blue shirt under, and it made his eyes stand out too. Niall had told me he had a surprise for me at Louis, I was excited. Even though I hated surprises, I was excited.

I thought back to when Niall had picked me up, he had become speechless when he saw me. It was adorable; my Dad had taken a million pictures of us, and told us not to do anything foolish at prom. We both promised.

We pulled into Louis driveway, Niall got out quickly and opened the door for me, and he held his hand out for me to take. I smiled shyly. “So, what’s the surprise?”

His lips curved into a smile, “not telling!”

I glared, he sucked. We walked to the backyard where Danielle, Liam, Louis, and Eleanor were all waiting for me smiling. Even Louis’ Mom, sisters and my Dad? What was he doing here? I was confused, they all smiled at me when I got closer. “Gosh Niall, you finally made it.” Louis said.

“Hey, ya know you were the one that said to take the long route so Sam’s Dad could beat us here.” He laughed.

I was still clueless on what was happening, “someone want to tell me what’s happening…..”

Everyone turned to look at me, and then Louis took me by the hand and pulled me over to a chair. I sat down and stared at everyone, Niall and Louis both looked at each other and nodded. “Sam, you know how we’re all going to London for school next fall?” Lou asked.

I looked at my feet sad. I wanted to go… But like I said before, I couldn’t leave my Dad all alone. Even though he was getting better, he could actually walk normally now, but he would be lonely, and something could happen. I couldn’t trust myself to leave him alone. I was going to miss them all so much. “Yeah”

“Well… when you were filling out applications a while ago, Niall took one and sent it to London to get you a scholarship, because he knew you wanted to go… And we knew we wouldn’t be able to convince you to do it yourself since you don’t want to leave your Dad.” Louis said, he continued. “Anyways, so we arranged that your Dad could come live around my neighborhood because my Mom knows some owners around here. My mom also doesn't mind taking care of your Dad either." It was true, Lou's mom and my Dad were getting closer. Louis continued "But we were waiting till we knew for sure you would get accepted, and a letter came in for you yesterday. We wanted you to open it…” Louis took the letter from Eleanor who had it in her hands and handed it to me.

I took it shaking, my friends did this? I bit my lip and opened it, I began reading it.

Dear Sam Waterson,

We would like to inform you, that you have been accepted to Queen Mary London University. We would like to offer you a full time scholarship for 2 years. Please let us know if you will accept in the next 2 weeks.

My jaw dropped open; I’ve been offered a scholarship…? I couldn’t believe it. My dream came true, I couldn’t turn it down and they even said my Dad could live in Lou’s neighborhood so he had Louis’ parents. I looked up at everyone and stood. “I’ve been accepted and offered a scholarship… I’m coming to London with you guys!”

Everyone erupted in cheers and hugs, I couldn’t believe how amazing my friends were… I loved them all to death. We all took our pictures, it was just girls now. We ran over to Louis’ swing and tried to sit on it at the same time, we kept laughing, and finally we agreed I would sit on Eleanor’s lap and Danielle would sit on mine, we tried but burst out laughing again. I loved my girls so much.
