The Needle

"I told you it wouldn't hurt," Flapjack said cheerfully, pulling the needle from Lawrence's arm. "Just a simple transfusion. That should make you pretty much immortal to anything but blade or bullet. That counts for age, you don't have to worry about dying from human aging."

"Thank you," Lawrence said softly, looking at Flapjack gratefully. Bløød walked in, and he heard the hard pounding of Lawrence's heart in his chest nervously upon his arrival.

"What do you want, Bløød?" Flapjack asked tiredly.

"What do I do with the other humans, Flapjack? I locked them in the broom closet."

"I guess we have them come in here."

"Go fetch them, then." The king commanded. He ran to collect the three brothers and the lone sisters, coming back with leashes tied around each of them. They were hunched over, probably because they were taller than Flapjack and the leash was short.

Lawrence looked at his siblings and whispered to himself. "Looks like they finally got caught by Animal Control."

Aoife growled and put up her fists. "Lawrence I'm going to beat you into a pulp like father does," She looked at him threateningly.

Flapjack pulled down on her leash violently, choking her. "Watch it," He whispered.

She looked at him hatefully, brushing her hair from her face nonchalantly. She spoke to Flapjack angrily "I hope you rot in the underworld, you pathetic excuse for a dem-" She yelped as he pulled on her leash suddenly, throwing her to the ground.

Flapjack released them from the leashes after closing the door, Bløød guarding it. "You guys came from Earth," He said to himself, then spoke directly to the five. "I'm guessing from Bløød's thoughts that you all performed a ritual as the last thing you did on Earth, I'm assuming it's Satanic. Why'd you do it?"

"Well, a friend of ours thought it was all fake, so we showed them that it wasn't- but we weren't expecting to be here," Said Atlas, whose voice was low and quiet. His deep blue eyes connected with the demons'.

"You're not worried that they're going to show up too?" Asked Flapjack.

"They're already here," stated Earle, standing next to his brother, Lawrence. "They were in the janitors closet when you got us."

Bløød looked at Flapjack who looked at Earle. "I sent them back, remember?"

Earle blinked. "Oh, yeah."

Atlas twiddled his fingers "I want to go home," he whined softly. "I'm hungry and scared."

"Yeah that's not happening. We need test subjects for our doctor." The king said matter-of-factly. "Also, you guys have seen a little too much."

Zain looked at Aoife, exchanging looks of fear. "Who had the horns first?" Bløød asked, flickering his gaze back and forth from Zain to Lawrence. "I've been wondering this whole time and I need answers."

"It was Lawrence; he had the mask and I thought it was cool. Turns out, it looks better on him than me." The mutant human admitted.

"Then why did you insult me, saying it looked like trash?" Lawrence asked hotly, looking away. "You can't change your mind only when others are around," He mumbled.

Earle put his hand on Lawrence's shoulder and burned a hole in Zain's with his eyes. "You have to stop messing with people's emotions, we've talked about this before." He sat down where he stood. "'Rence, I think you look great, no matter what. I also think your horns are wonderful, and I like the fact that you skinned and cleaned the buck skull yourself. You're a creative and wonderful person."

Earle hugged his brother, who blushed lightly and hugged him back. "Aw, that's sweet. Aren't humans sweet, Bløød?" Flapjack held his brothers hand and swung it playfully.

"Sure," The king said, pulling his hand back violently. "God, you sure like touching." Flapjack grabbed his brother's hand again and held it with a tighter grip, looking him in the eyes. He stepped closer. "I love you!"

 "Mm," He grumbled.

 "Say it,"

 "No."

 "Bløød."

 "Nope."

 "Say it-"

 "Fine, I love you too."

The prince smiled in victory and leaned his back against Bløød's stomach, looking at all the humans. "Are you humans done fighting? Well, humans and mutant deer guy. That's Zain by the way. Just for clarification."

"We got that. Yes, we're done."

"Good! Uh- Bløød what do we do now?"

"Send them to the lab," The king said. "We're not going to keep them in the guest room."

"I wanna keep Lawrence!" Flapjack protested. "I'll feed him and bring him water, and I'll even bathe him! Please, you never let me do anything!"

"Okay, you can," He smiled slightly. "If he dies, you can never have any more humans ever again."

"Deal!" What Flapjack failed to tell him was that Lawrence doesn't need to eat. He was sure Bløød'd find out later, but now wasn't the time, he'd be upset if he told him he'd given more people free black blood. After the last incident, he promised he wouldn't do it again. For now, he would just have to wait for Lawrence to do something heroic to tell him. With that thought, he collected the other humans and dragged them to the lab, where Doctor KC was waiting.
