Flapjack woke up to a crowded bed and a face full of feet. He tickled the bottom of each, "What do you two think you're doing?" He shouted playfully, his victims squealing, squirming and giggling in delight.
"My face," Spike exclaimed, getting an unintentional karate kick to the face, "My beautiful face!"
"That's what you get for forgetting to take your makeup off before you went to bed! Feel my wrath!" Shouted Gavriel, giving his best war cry.
"Hush, Gavri, you're going to wake Uncle Bløød!" Squealed Luci.
"Too late!" There was a flurry of red, black, and white, a loud thump, and the flurry's poor airborne victims flew to the ground. "I win, as per usual," Bløød brushed his shoulders free of invisible dust, sitting up straight on the bed- before he got bonked over the head with a pillow.
"That's it," The king pouted, "I'm suing you for your dessert- you better get a good lawyer."
"My lawyer is my dad!" Luci challenged, "Both of them!"
"Yeah, well my lawyer should arrive any second now," Declared Bløød, sticking his tongue out.
The door opened, as if on cue, revealing a tall man with dark brown hair and soft yellow eyes, who had a smile that lit up the whole room. "Happy 18,000th birthday, Flapjack."
"Seth!" Flapjack screamed, scrambling to go hug him. Seth picked him up.
"I missed you- Death couldn't have been any lonelier without you," he whispered, too quietly for anyone else but Flapjack to hear. He spoke louder, "Who are these two bundles of sunshine?"
"The better question is, who are you? Also- i'm 13, I'm not a baby," Gavri huffed.
"That's my brother, Gavriel. I'm Luci, and you're holding my dad."
Seth's glance flickered between Spike and Flapjack several times before settling on Flapjack. He whispered, "Do they know?"
"Do we know what?" Gavri asked, getting all up in their grill. Seth looked at Flapjack for confirmation.
"You can tell them," He and Spike said in unison.
Seth's eyes widened, "Wait, I-" He sighed when he saw his brother and his lover's pleading eyes, "What parts do you want me to tell them?"
"All of it," Flapjack said, "But you can leave out the details, like that one part of the Redcotton mission-"
"No, by all means, describe it in full detail," Spike smirked, his kids nodding and agreeing in unison.
"Tsk, you heard the dad, Flapjack," Seth said. The prince groaned, covering his face in his hands. Seth kicked into storytime mode.
"Back when your father was five," Seth started, watching Flapjack turn red, "He was a big player. When Dad #2 went missing," he nodded his head to Spike, "Dad #1 did not pass up that opportunity to cheat on him- but that's okay, eventually, after Dad #2 got found, he cheated on Dad #1 with your mom-"
"I have a Mom?" Luci asked excitedly.
"Er, had. She passed away while birthing you two."
"Wait, what's my Dad's name?" Luci asked curiously, looking at the both of them.
"Flapjack..?" Seth answered, unsure which dad.
"Why is he named after a pancake?!" Gavri screamed, promptly receiving a pillow to the face and several shushes. "Wow, thanks."
"Anyways," Seth grumbled, "Your mom's husband died trying to save your dads, so you were named Gavriel."
"Why was I named Luci?"
"Well, your dad's br-"
"I thought the name was very cute," Flapjack replied, butting in.
Seth and Spike exchanged confused looks.
'I don't want her knowing she was named after L-U-C-I-F-E-R' Flapjack explained in Sign Language. 'She knows who he was and what he did, I don't want her to dislike her name.'
'Cheesy dad move," Bløød replied in ASL.
'Not exactly,' Seth defended.
'You're just biased,' Spike argued.
"What the actual heck are you guys doing with your hands?" Gavri asked, frustrated.
"They're speaking in some family language," Luci answered, looking at them with judgemental and analytical eyes.
'We need a new language,"
'Thanks, Captain Obvious, we figured that out.' Bløød signed, growling.
Luci pulled out a packet, flipping through the pages. "He said 'thanks,' then probably said something sarcastic," She told her brother proudly.
"By law, you're forbidden to eavesdrop on conversations held by me, or demon with higher authority than you, especially when spoken in another language, no excuses." Bløød said.
"Since wh-"
"Starting now, Luci."
"You're my least favourite uncle," She muttered, looking at the floor.
"I don't care, and I never will," He retorted.
"Okay, Bløød, calm down. She's 13, you don't have to fight her." Seth said, ending the argument.
