Luci sat in her room, deep in thought.
"Hey, Luci!" Gavriel greeted as he walked in. When she didn't reply, he sat down next to her on her bean bag chair. Puzzled at her silence, he poked her cheek. "Luci, are you alright?""What do you want, Gavriel Black?" His sister said hotly, turning her head to look at him.
"Are you okay? You looked sad."
"Uncle Bløød's not fair!" She shouted, " I want to know what they're saying, I-"
Flapjack walked in. "Castle meeting, Flower room." He walked back out.
Luci sighed. "I'll talk to you later about this, okay Gavri?" She asked with her best smile. Her brother nodded and smiled back, nodded, and pushed himself up off the chair, fighting with it before finally getting up.
"Our first meeting in the Flower room!" He squealed, skipping out.
Luci envied his happiness. She used to have that, what he had, until her depression hit, then she just didn't know what to do with herself. She just felt the agonizing loneliness and numbness. She pulled her long sleeves over her hands and stood up. She looked in the mirror and tried to smile, but her throat closed up. Smile dropping, Luci pinched her earlobe and walked out, mumbling about how her stomach hurt.
☽"We're sorry about the Flower call," the prince said, beginning the meeting, "but we have to congratulate two young souls, who will be choosing their life paths today. Luci Malala X and her cheery and inspiring brother, Gavriel Black X."
Luci cringed at the idea of choosing her life path today- she hadn't thought much about it. She stood up and walked to the front, her brother following close behind. She pasted on a smile and sat in a Chair of Above and Below. Five very important chairs that thousands of royalty and and very special non-royalty have sat in. She kicked up her feet on one of the armrests, not understanding how the chairs worked or their importance. Gavri picked a chair three seats down.
"Luci," Flapjack started nervously, "You're going to be working in Redcotton, while Gavriel works as the head mission planner."
She sat up, "You're kidding right?"
"We're going to rebuild a replacement center and you're going," King Bløød said, unfazed.
Luci looked at her brother for help and got the message immediately. He stepped in; "She's not going anywhere! If you put her in Redcotton, I'm gonna- I'm going to kill myself!" He said quickly."Right, sure you are," Bløød snickered.
"Bløød it's not funny, don't encourage suicide- we're going to have another Lucifer situation!-" Flapjack panicked.
"Who's Lucifer, and what do they have to do with this?" Luci asked slowly.
'I thought she knew,' Seth signed swiftly, 'this isn't bad or significant enough to lie about, so why did you?'
"I don't know," Flapjack answered aloud, "Just tell her, Seth,"
He nodded, "Well,"
That's when Luci's water broke. How did this happen? For starters, pregnancy isn't visible in demons, and when a man and a woman love each other very much, you know what happens. Gavri and Egan were at her side immediately, rushing her to the infirmary. Seth, Spike and Flapjack exchanged looks of confusion and shock
Bløød looked at Flapjack with a blaming look, mixed with his usual blankness, brushing his cherry red hair to the side.
"Okay, Bløød, she's 13, and not to mention my family- my daughter, no less," he defended, reading Bløød's look.
