"Mr. Hargrove!" Billy jolted awake and snapped his head up to his teacher. "Would you like to share why your dreams were more entertaining than my lesson?"

"Anything is more entertaining than your lessons." Billy grabbed his stuff and left the classroom, heading for the janitor's closet. No one was in there so he had it to himself. He dug behind the many bottles of bleach and found Jade's hidden cigarettes. Lighting one, he put the rest back and leaned his head against the wall. He had taken Beverly's advice and caught up to Jade's Impala where she flipped him the bird in multiple ways. They eventually got into a screaming match through their car windows until she took a sharp turn and he had to swerve out of her way. He had driven back to school, pissed off, of course, and slept through every one of his classes.

Why won't she let me talk to her?

Because you broke her heart, dumbass.

You think it didn't hurt me too?

I know it hurt you too but she was on the receiving end.

So I wasn't on the receiving end?

Don't put all the blame on your father, if you wanted it to last you could've thought of so many ways to stay together but you didn't. You just rolled over.

I didn't want to see her get hurt. I didn't want to be the reason she got hurt.

But, in the end, you were.

The door opened with an upset Jade at the handle. She was violently wiping tears from her cheeks when she noticed Billy in "her" spot. He started to get up but she slammed the door in his face, immediately walking towards the doors. Billy chased after her as expected and grabbed her forearm, pulling her into his arms.

Although she hated it, she began crying into his chest and welcomed the comfortable and familiar embrace. Billy had her head in one of his hands while his arms were wrapped around her.

"I'll tell you everything tonight if you don't see it first."
