Best Friends Brother ~Luke Hemmings Fan Fic {On Hold}

Chapter 1

Today is the first day of summer vacation. I am so excited because Valerie and I have so much planned to do. The two of us are going to spend almost everyday together. We live right next to each other on the same street which made it easy to hang out all the time. It's mid morning, Val and I are sitting at her kitchen table discussind what we are going to do today.

"Well I think we should go to the mall because I need to get clothes and stuff for the summer." Val said to me as her mom Liz sat down next to her. "That sounds like a good idea girls," Liz replies joining the conversation, "Plus I think Luke said that the boys were coming over today and I'm sure the mall sounds like more fun." "The boys are coming over?!" Val says with a little hint of excitement in her voice. Liz nods her head indicating yes.

Val had told me about a year ago that she has a bit of a crush on Calum. I presonaly think that it's more than just a little crush. I look at her and she looks at me. I can see her start to blush a little bit and then we start to giggle.

"What's so funny girls?" Liz asks. "Oh nothing." the two of us reply in unison trying to stop laughing. Just then Luke walks though the kitchen. Following him is Micheal, Ashton and Calum. I look at Val who is looking at Calum and then looks at me and we start to laugh again.

"Hey mum, the guys and I are going upstairs to work on songs and stuff." Luke says to Liz. "Okay I'm leaving in about an hour to drop the girls off at the mall so I'll let you know when we are leaving." "Okay cool." Luke says and the four of them vanish upstairs to Luke's room

Val and I arrive at the mall and we walk around going from store to store picking clothes for this summer. I got three bathing suits from Victoria's Secret and a bunch of other clothes from other stores.

We are in Forever 21 and out of no where Val asks me "Do you think that Cal and I would be good together?" "Where is this coming from.Two seconds ago we were talking about shorts and now Calum?" I respond kind if in shock because it came out of no where. "Yeah I know but I think about him a lot and today when we walked in..." "Your heart began to race and you got butterflies in your stomach." I say cutting her off mid sentence. "Yeah! How did you know?" She asks with a smile on her face still. "Because I can tell by your facial expression exactly what you're thinking just like you can for me." "True...So do you think that we would be good together?" she asks with curiosity in her voice now. I smile at her "Yeah I do and he would be so lucky to have you."

We left Forever 21 and now we are walking around the mall. "A?" Val says like a question. "Yeah Val." "you know when you said that we know what each other are thinking based on our facial expression?" "Yeah." "Well I've been thinking about it and I know what you're thinking when you see Luke." I stop dead and my tracks and does she and we look at each other. "I know that you have feelings for him. I can tell by the way that your eyes light up. You do it without even noticing." I'm just standing there. I have no idea what to say. I'm don't think that I have feeling for him. It would be weird, my best friend's brother who I've known forever. it just doesn't seem right. "I can also tell by the way he looks at you that he has feeling for you as well." she adds trying to get me to say something but I still haven't answered her.

The silence was then broken by Val's phone going off. It was Liz saying the she was here to pick us up. We are walking to the main entrance where Liz is waiting for us. to break the awkwardness that we have between us right now I point out cute guys. "Hey Val. 3 o'clock white shirt." She looks to her right to see who I'm talking about and then looks back at me. "Ooooooh Yeaaaah!"

We get back to Val's and we place pour bags on the kitchen table. Okay girls lets see what you bought."  Liz says as she took a seat at table. Val and I take turns modeling the clothe that we bought. We have saved the Victoria Secret's stuff for last. The two of us come out in our new bathing suits.

Just the Luke, Calum Michael and Ashton walk into the kitchen. Their faces light up when they see us in our bathing suits. Her and I look at each other and start to blush as Liz gets out of her chair and walks over to the island in the middle of the kitchen. "Hello boys." she says with a cheerful voice. "Hey mum, just wondering if the bous could stay the night if that's okay with you?" he asks and give a quick glance in Val and I's direction. "Yeah sure that's fine ."

"Mum, A and I are going to change back into our regular clothes." Val says to Liz as the two of us walk to the bathroom to change. We walk back into the kitchen after we chance. Liz and the boys are still ther. Val and I walk past them taking our bag along the way and make our way upstairs to Val's room. 

"Did you see the way that they were looking at us when we in our bathing suits?" Val asks me. "Yeah I did but I'm sure it means nothing. They were probably just kind of surprised that there were two girls in bathing suits standing in the kitchen cause it's not like it happens everyday." I reply. "Or they liked what they saw." I roll my eyes letting out a small laugh.
