Addison Waters

I slowly nodded out of awkwardness, disconnecting my hand from his quickly. He clearly wanted nothing to do with me, I could tell he was fuming.

"Well I'll leave you kids to get to know each other, I gotta finish up the vegetable soup!" Lisa exclaimed, patting me on the back and giving me a thumbs up while she walked away.

I sighed,
"Um-"

"What are you doing here?" He blurted out.

"Lisa invited me.."

"Why?"

I awkwardly laughed,
"You sure do have a lot of questions,"

He cockily chuckled,
"Well when the last person I want to see shows up, I'm kinda curious as to why they're in my house."

I was taken back, I get he's mad but he's over stepping it just a little.

"I'm sorry I'm such a bother, but if you must know, Ethan went into the army just yesterday and your mom thought I could use some company so she offered to have me stay. Happy?"

"How nice of her, I'm surprised you didn't have plans with one of our cousins or something, you sure do love screwing up family's."

"Excuse me?"

He just smiled, before turning around and going back into the basement, where he had first appeared from.

"How did it go?" Lisa whispered, she was clearly very giddy and had high hopes, I'm surprised she didn't hear him grilling me since she was only a few feet away.

"It went great," I smiled.

I set my luggage down on the bed, unzipping it and pulling out a comfortable outfit to wear for the rest of the night.

I told Lisa I wasn't feeling well so I wouldn't have to sit through a very awkward dinner with Grayson. I couldn't pretend that I hadn't met him before and he clearly wasn't doing a very good job at hiding his hatred for me.

She was very nice about it, she set aside a bowl of soup for me and left it in the fridge, along with letting me stay in Ethan's old room.

Everything looked very.. rested? Like he was still living here, nothing was moved and it seemed like all of his old things were still here.

It was really interesting to see this part of his life, learning every little thing about him even if it's old news just makes me happy.

I was looking at all of his sports trophies, before I heard a light knock on the door.

I turned my head to see Grayson, holding a folded blue blanket.

"My mom told me to give this to you." He blandly spoke.

"Thanks, you can just put it on the bed,"

Unexpectedly, he just threw it on the bed, sending me a fake smile before walking off.

I hate how I turned him into this person. He's probably not like this with everyone but he's being so cruel, the resentment he has towards me is getting to me even more now.
