Yu-Gi-Oh: The Life of Renita

chapter eight

Time passed. Prince Yugi was getting bigger. He had started to crawl around the palace. Renita kept a watchful eye on him. Atem would as well. They were good parents. Akhenamkhanen health was starting to decline. He was still in high spirits but he could feel something was off.

When prince Yugi had his first birthday, Akhenamkhanen threw a special party for him. Renita's father was able to come. While king Lue was there something amazing happened. Renita set prince Yugi down to get something. He was starting to stand but wasn't walking yet. Yugi started walking towards king Lue without support. Renita was shocked. "Atem, come quick" Renita called. Atem ran to her thinking was wrong. "Look" she said pointing to Yugi. Atem gasped. Soon Yugi mad it to king Lue's arms. King Lue lifted him up. "Oh my goodness... His first steps" Atem said. "Wait, this was his first?" King Lue asked. Atem and Renita laughed.

King Lue, pharaoh Akhenamkhanen, Renita, Atem, and little Yugi spent the whole day together. "It is a shame he will Never know either of his grandmothers." King Lue said. "Yes it is. And it's too bad he won't ever know his uncle or cousin." Renita said. "Speaking of which, what was Sy's child" Renita asked. "A boy." King Lue said. "I see" Renita said.

King Lue left a few days later. Renita looked at her son. She was scarred that if she had another child, he would do what her brother did. Atem did ask about more children. Renita did agree about having more but she wanted to wait a little longer.

Five months later Renita woke up with really bad nausea. She ran to the bathroom and threw up. Atem heard her and ran to her. "Are you alright Renita?" Atem asked. After she finished she had a scary thought. "No, not now" Renita thought to herself. "I'll be back" Renita said to Atem. She went straight to the healer.

The healer wasn't expecting her at all. "What can I do for you today princess" the healer said. "I...I think.... I think I'm pregnant again" Renita said. The healer did a test. Hours later it was confirmed. Renita was shocked.

Renita went back to her and Atem's Chambers. He wasn't there. Prince Yugi was wide awake. He was standing in his crib. Renita lifted him up. Yugi was starting to say little words but nothing that made since yet. "I wove you momma" prince Yugi said. Renita was shocked. Even though the love was missed pronounced, he still said he loved her. She hugged her son. "I love you too son" she said.

When Atem came back to their Chambers he was had a look of concern. He had noticed his father's health on the decline. He knew that if his father died, then he would become pharaoh instantly. Renita could see the concern. She pulled Atem close. "You alright?" She asked him. "Just worried about father" Atem said. "I know something that can cheer you up" Renita said. "What?" Atem said.

She took a deep breath. "It looks like prince Yugi will be a brother" Renita said. Atem was confused at first. Then he figured it out. "Are you serious?" Atem said. Renita nodded her head. Atem lifted her up and spun her around. "Wow, Another child" Atem said. "Yeah, I'm nervous but I think it will go smoothly." Renita said.

Atem was excited about the new child. That night while Renita was sleeping he rubbed her stomach. "I don't care if you are a boy or girl. I will protect you until the day I die" Atem said. He brought Renita close to him. Renita woke up and looked at him. "Are you alright Atem?" She asked him. "I'm fine love" Atem said. He kissed her passionately. "Honey, I'm already pregnant" Renita said after Atem broke the kiss to catch his breath. "I know, I just love you so much" Atem said. Renita smiled.

In the middle of the night prince Yugi woke up Renita. She fed him and rocked him back to sleep. She went back in the bed and looked at her stomach. She wasn't showing yet but she was nervous. Her last pregnancy she didn't even know about and the one before that ended in disaster. She didn't want to go though that again.

Renita decided to keep herself relaxed as much as she could. Atem had to start attending meetings with his father so he could get used to being pharaoh. At one meeting Akhenamkhanen's health was brought up. Atem didn't like talking about it.

As the months went by and Renita got bigger she was getting more worried. Yugi was excited about being a big brother. At around four or five months pregnant she felt her baby kick. Atem was getting excited about the new baby too. Yugi felt the baby. "Mommy, is it a boy or a girl?" Prince Yugi asked. "We don't know sweetie. We can't tell that until it's Born" Renita explained. "Oh, I was wondering because I have a girl name in mind" Yugi said. "Oh... Well if it's a girl we will let you name her since we can't think of a girl name" Renita said. Prince Yugi's eyes got big. "Really?" Yugi asked. "Yes" Atem said.

"Since Yugi will name it if it's a girl, we need to figure out a boy name" Atem said to Renita said. "I was thinking Lue, after my father" Renita said. "I like it. Lue it is." Atem said. He knelt down to her stomach and kissed it. "I can't wait to see you" atem said. The baby kicked his face. "Hey" Atem said. Renita laughed. "I can't control that" Renita said. Atem stood up and kissed her. "I know" Atem said.

A few months later Akhenamkhanen was bed ridden. Renita was 8 months pregnant. Atem and Renita went by his side when Akhenamkhanen called for them. "Father" Atem said. "Son... My time is close" Akhenamkhanen said. "No father.. I'm... I'm not ready" Atem said. "It's not a matter if you're ready or not. Treat the people with respect. Keep Egypt in peace." Akhenamkhanen said. "Renita, take good care of my son and my grandchildren" Akhenamkhanen said. Atem and Renita began to cry. "Atem... Fulfill... my..... dream" and after he said that he breathed his last. "Father? Father?.... Father!" Atem said. He put his head down and cried. Renita rubbed his shoulders. They hugged each other. Shimon came by. "I see we now have a new pharaoh." He said. Atem stood up. "Let's not hold the coronation yet. I want the kingdom to morn for a month. Then I'll take the thrown" Atem said. "That will also give time for the body to be mummified" Atem said. Shimon bowed. "Yes sir." Shimon said.
