Sy wasn't kidding about what he said at the tomb. He really thought his sister murdered their mother. King Lue had no idea that's what he thought at first. King Lue took great care of his daughter. He was also trying to get Sy ready to become king someday. Ever since his mother died, he's been more angry. When little Renita started walking, Sy would purposely trip her.
He would get in trouble for it every time but he didn't care. Sy hated his sister. He never spent any time with her. As Renita got older she wish she had a relationship with her brother. One day she decided to try to talk to him. "Sy?" Renita asked her brother when she found him. "what do you want snake" he asked. Renita was shocked on what he called her. "Um, Nevermind" Renita said running away. She cried knowing her brother hated her.
One day Renita was walking in her garden. She was about 5 years old now. She heard talking close by. She went to investigate. "Are you sure you don't want to rethink this Sy?" Sy's friend asked him. "I'm sure, the day I become king, I will execute that snake for murder" Sy said. "Why do you keep saying she murdered your mother, she died in child birth. That is very different" the friend said. "No, they are one and the same. That will be a new law. When a woman dies in child birth, the child will be executed for murder" Sy said. "You're mad" the friend said. "No, I'm preventing crimes. If they kill their mother's in child birth, who knows who else they will kill" Sy said. Renita couldn't believe her ears. She ran to her father hoping her brother didn't hear her.
She cried in her father's arms. Lue knew his son was wrong. In the meantime he had to find a way to protect Renita. He wasn't sure what to do. He had to be the one to talk to his son before it was to late. He knew if his son became king, many innocent children would die.
Lue sat down Sy one day to talk to him. "I Know that you plan on executing your sister the day you become king. You need to understand that Renita didn't purposely kill your mother. In fact she almost died when you were born" Lue said. "But I didn't kill her. Renita did, why do you defend the person who murdered your wife?" Sy questions. "Because it wasn't murder. Renita is my daughter and you are my son. I love you both. Yes I miss your mother but there is nothing I can do to bring her back. Your mother knew she was sick with Renita." Lue said.
Sy stood up. "I'm still going execute her. I don't care what you say. Once I'm king you will be long gone" Sy said angery. He walked away and Lue tried to stop him. He now knew his sons mind was made up. If he had a another son he could have told him to become king. Sadly he couldn't give the kingdom to his daughter. He decided he needed to protect her.
He knew the only way for her to get protected was to get married. He knew his daughter was really young. He couldn't just let anyone marry his daughter. He had to be a kind prince. He remembered he had a friend in Egypt who had a son Renita's age. He wrote him a letter explaining the situation about his son. In the meantime he decided to teach his daughter Egyptian hieroglyphs. That way she could have a chance with his friend's son.
Renita learned Egyptian hieroglyphs very easily. Studied them for three years. Sy didn't know that her father was teaching her about them. The pharaoh of Egypt sent his response to king Lue. He thought that they were still to young for marriage. But he made a proposal. He offered to keep Renita in Egypt until she was old enough to be married. And it would allow his son to get to know her better. But he wanted her to wait until she was 8. King Lue agreed.
When Renita turned 8 she knew about going to Egypt. Her father was going with her to help her get settled. She was nervous about leaving. But she knew it was better than what her brother was saying. King Lue suggested writing a letter to the prince of Egypt. They wouldn't leave until she was completely packed and that would take a while. Renita did as her father suggested. She wrote the prince a letter telling him she would be moving there for her protection. The prince responded pretty quickly. He was excited to meet her. He couldn't wait to have her meet his friends. After several letters back and fourth Renita couldn't help but like the prince. The only thing was they didn't know each other's names yet. That was because they were told they couldn't know until the met in person.
Finally the day came where king Lue would take his daughter to Egypt. "I'll be gone a while. Take care of the kingdom. And this is only temporary. I'll be back in 4 weeks time" king Lue told Sy. He really didn't want to leave his son in charge but he had no choice. He didn't have a brother or anything.
On the carriage ride Renita was reading a recent letter from the prince. "What did he say?" King Lue asked. "He's excited about meeting me. He can tell I care about my people. He said that's what he is looking for in his future queen." Renita said. "Well it's too early to think about marriage right now my daughter." Lue said. Renita didn't care. She already liked the prince. She was getting excited about meeting him in person. She only wished two things. She wished she could know his name already and know what he looked like.
King Lue didn't even know the princes name. He hoped that the prince was really as kind as he appeared to be.

Yu-Gi-Oh: The Life of Renita
Fanficthis is my prequel to Yu-Gi-Oh: The Nameless Queen of Egypt. This story fallows Renita from before she was born to the day she died and trapped her mind in her millennium puzzle. I do not own the Yu-Gi-Oh characters.
