Yu-Gi-Oh: The Life of Renita

chapter six

A couple of years later they still weren't over their child's death. Atem had a hard time hearing the name Akhenamkhanen for a while. Atem was slowly healing but he couldn't help but feel upset.

One day while Atem and Renita were walking in the garden, "Atem, come with me" Akhenamkhanen said. "What is it father?" Atem said. "There's something you must witness." Akhenamkhanen said. "May I come." Renita asked.  The pharaoh was shocked. "Alright." Akhenamkhanen said.

They arrived at a cave. Atem started getting scared. Renita was too. As they walked Akhenamkhanen said to stay close. Renita stayed very close to Atem. Then Atem fell. "Atem!" Renita called out. "Father help" Atem said. Renita tried to help him. Akhenamkhanen told her not too.  "Pull your self up my son" Akhenamkhanen said. Atem was able to get up with no problems. "Are you alright?" Renita asked. "Yeah I'm fine" Atem said. They reached the end of the cave. It had pictures of former Pharaohs. Akhenamkhanen bowed. "Please, forgive the sins I've committed. In the creation of the Millenium items many lives were hurt. Please don't let my sins go to my son. Protect him from the wrongs of his father" Akhenamkhanen said crying. "Are you alright dad" Atem asked. He started to cry himself. Renita felt bad and she started to cry too. Then lightning filled the room. Atem and Renita freaked. "It's alright, you are safe now" Akhenamkhanen said. They went back to the palace.

When they got back Renita wasn't quite sure what happened. Atem wasn't sure either. Then, "Ah" Renita screamed. "Renita what's wrong?" Atem asked. "I...I don't know..ah" she said. Renita was in pain. Atem lifted her up bridal style and took her to their Chambers. "I'll go find the healer." Atem said. Renita agreed and waited for Atem to return. "Ah... hurry Atem" Renita said to her self. She thought she was dying. Renita didn't know what was going on. Then she remembered the day her first child was born. It was the same pain.

Soon Atem returned with a healer. "Atem... I... I think I'm in.. labor" Renita said. The healer checked her Theory. "Atem, find the midwife, Renita is right" the healer said. Renita was really scared.  She had no idea she was even pregnant. "Ah" she screamed in pain. "Breathe princess. The midwife should be here soon" the healer said. The midwife arrived. "Ah, i.. I need to..ah" Renita said. Atem went by her side. "alright princess, push" the midwife said. Renita pushed. "Ah... Ah" Renita screamed. She stopped the push. Atem was worried. He didn't want to go though what they went though last time. "Ah" Renita screamed again as she pushed again.

After several hours of pushing Renita felt relief. Then she heard the cry of a baby. Atem began crying tear's of joy. "It's a prince" the midwife said. She gave Renita the baby and Renita fed him. "Atem, you have a heir" Renita said. After the baby was finished eating Atem took the child in his arms. He was healthy. The baby looked just like Atem. "What do we call him?" Atem asked Renita. "I have no idea" Renita said. "If I may your highness'" a slave said. "What?" Atem said. "I might have a name in mind. It's common where I come from" the slave said. Atem and Renita look at each other. "Won't hurt to listen" Atem said. Renita agreed.

"I hope you like it but I understand if you don't want to use it. The name is Yugi" the slave said. "Yugi?" Renita said. "it sounds like a strong name. Alright we will use it. Prince Yugi" Atem said. "Let me go get my father. He will want to hear this" Atem said. As Atem walked out the door Akhenamkhanen was already there. "I heard screaming, then it went silent. Everything alright?" Akhenamkhanen asked. "Yes father, fallow me" Atem said. He led him into the room. Renita was singing to the prince. "Father, meet my son. Prince Yugi" Atem said. Akhenamkhanen was in shock. "I didn't know she was pregnant" Akhenamkhanen said. Atem laughed. "We didn't know either."

King Lue had just arrived for his yearly visit. He had no idea his daughter had just had a baby. When he arrived at the palace everybody looked like they were in shock. Akhenamkhanen greeted king Lue. "What's going on?" King Lue asked. "Come with me and you will see" Akhenamkhanen said. He led Lue to Atem's and Renita's Chambers. "Did something happen to my daughter?" Lue asked. "Go in and see" Akhenamkhanen said. King Lue knocked on the door. "Come in" Atem said. He opened the door.

Renita was asleep. She was exhausted from the delivery. Lue thought she was dead at first. "What happened?" Lue asked. Atem saw his scared look on his face. "Don't worry, she just sleeping." Atem said. Lue placed his hand over his heart. "Man that scared me." Lue said. Atem went over to the crib. "We do have a surprise" Atem said. He lifted the baby. "What? Why didn't she tell me she was pregnant again?" Lue asked. "Because she didn't know" Atem said. "No one knew until she delivered" Atem explained. Lue was shocked.

When Renita woke up she saw her father holding the prince. "Renita, your awake" Lue said. "Yes father. It was a long delivery" Renita said. "Where's Atem?" Renita asked noticing he wasn't there. "He and his father are getting ready to have the prince presented to the kingdom." King Lue said. Renita smiled. "Did Atem tell you his name?" Renita asked. "No, he wanted you to tell me" king Lue said. Renita smiled bigger. "His name is prince Yugi" Renita said. Lue looked at the sleeping baby. "Yugi, what a perfect name" King Lue said.

The next day the whole Kingdom was gathered around the place balcony. Everyone was confused why the pharaoh wanted everyone there. Akhenamkhanen came out and greeted his people. "13 years ago, I presented my son to you as the prince of Egypt. Today I announce that we have a new prince" Akhenamkhanen said.the crowed was confused. Akhenamkhanen called over Renita and Atem. Renita was holding prince Yugi. "My son and his wife had a surprise child." Akhenamkhanen said. He took the child from Renita. "My people, I present to you, my first grandchild and future pharaoh to the thrown, prince Yugi" the crowd went wild. Akhenamkhanen gave Renita back the child. They went inside. Gifts were given for the baby.

Renita loved being a mother. Atem was happy to have a strong son. "I still can't believe I didn't know I was pregnant" Renita said. Atem laughed. "It would explain some things" Atem said. "Like what?" Renita asked. "The weird cravings. I mean come on, onions on Everything." Atem asked. "Oh. I guess I didn't realize" Renita said. "It's alright,I still love you, you and Yugi" Atem said. Atem held Yugi in his arms. The baby giggled. "He will be a great pharaoh some day" Atem said. "Yes he will" Renita said.
