Eclipse POV
It's been a couple weeks since Tu'La invaded O'Khasis. I was heading back home after groceries. It was a little past curfew and it was a bit dark so I had to sneak around with my hood up. I got back home but I had noticed something out my window. It was people sneaking around. I wonder where they're going. I don't recognize them. I put my hood on and started following them. They were going to the old high priest's house. He hasn't been seen for 15 years.
I noticed one of them sneak out and start heading to where Lady Zianna is being held. I heard him call her mother. Is he one of the sons that went missing many years ago? I know it's not Zane, I would've recognized the voice. It's hard to forget his voice. Then, I saw the other two strange people go up to the first one. Then I saw guard coming around the corner. Shoot. "Psst. Hey. Follow me." I whispered to the three people. They didn't seem to trust me but realized they had to trust me to get away from the guards.
I brought them back to my house. Once we were inside, I took my hood off. "What were you three thinking!? Sneaking into O'Khasis at a time like this is a bad idea. If you thought O'Khasis before was bad this is way worse." I said. "Who are you? Why did you help us?" Asked the girl with black hair. "My name is Eclipse. I helped you because I felt the need to." I answered. "Why?" Asked the other girl with blue hair. "Because none of you come from here. I was never one to agree with this place. I'd feel responsible if something were to happen to outsiders when I knew I could've done something." I answered.
"What are your names?" I asked. "My name is Aphmau. That is Garroth and Katelyn." Introduced the black haired girl. Now I get it. Garroth is one of the sons that went missing. "I can help you guys out of O'Khasis but I can't do it tonight. It's already getting light outside." I said. "Thank you." Said Aphmau. Garroth seemed reluctant to leave. I'm guessing that's because his mother is still locked up. "Going back for Lady Zianna right now would put her in more danger. It's best to wait." I told Garroth.
"How so?" He asked. "The guards are suspicious that something is going on now. Say we did get her out, security would be stronger therefore they'd get her again and they'd surely hurt her." I said. It was true. The guards are smarter than they seem. "If you don't mind me asking, you said you didn't agree with O'Khasis. What was stopping you from leaving?" Asked Aphmau. "I came here 15 years ago. I have nowhere to go if I leave. I'll just end up wandering forever trying to find a place. It's not like I can take a boat and I heard that the forest has a spell that doesn't allow people to leave." I explained.
"15 years? Wow, you must've been young. Where were your parents?" Asked Katelyn. "I wasn't that young. And I don't know. I don't remember anything before I woke up in the forest, just outside of O'Khasis." I answered. "You look like you're 20 years old." Said Aphmau. "I'm not exactly sure how to explain it..." I trailed off. "Can you try?" Asked Katelyn. "Well, one day, 15 years ago, after I had already been living here for a while, I was suddenly transported to another dimension." I started.
"I can't remember much from there but I do remember it was white. The building, the background. There were people but I couldn't see them. I could help, but not see. I only remember one of the people. I remember by voice. It was the old high priest, Zane. I cab never forget his voice. One of the first voices I heard. One that scared me." I explained. "Wait. 15 years, Zane, white dimension. That sounds like the Irene dimension. While we were there." Said Aphmau.
"I don't remember being helped." Said Garroth. "I couldn't do much! I couldn't even see. All I could do was activate the relic. I made sure Zane couldn't get it." I said. "Wait. You activated the relic? The relic came to me." Said Aphmau. "Because it was activated. The only other thing I could do was allow a travel to the dimension from this world." I said. "Zoey. You let her open the portal?" Asked Aphmau. "If I didn't, she'd have died on that attempt." I said. "I was only there for 15 minutes. It turned out, I was there for 15 years. Lady Zianna helped me with catching up to this time." I explained.
"She told me what happened with the 15 years. Heck, she even watched over my house for me while I was gone. She helped me 15 years ago too. She taught me more about this world." I explained. I got sad thinking of the sight of her behind bars. "You said you don't have anywhere to go? You can come with us. We're building a new village and would be happy to invite you there." Said Aphmau. "Really? Thank you." I thanked. "It's the least we can do for you helping us back there and with escaping here." Said Garroth.
It was now night. We'd been waiting around and I'd been packing everything important which really wasn't much. Just a few small things. "Alright. We need to go quickly." I said. I left a note on the counter. 'I've moved' is what it said. We then snuck out. The guards around my area were still few because of the time so we had to hurry before more show up. The three people followed me as I lead them to the escape route. We easily got out of O'Khasis with that escape route.
"So, where are we going now?" I asked. "We need to go back to the thieves' guild." Said Aphmau. She then lead the way. "We're back!" Called Katelyn. Then, a girl with blond hair and purple eyes came out. "Thank Irene you guys are okay!" Said the girl. "Hey Amber." Said Aphmau. "Hm? Who's your friend there?" The girl asked, looking at me. "Hi. My name is Eclipse." I said. I had my hood on from when we were leaving O'Khasis. "The boss wants to see you guys." Said the girl, Amber.
I'm glad to finally leave O'Khasis.
