Today was the day I perform at Beyoncé's concert. Right now the team was setting up and I was nervous as hell. I couldn't stop pacing back and forth. I hear a knock at the door that scares the shit out of me. "It's me Beyoncé." I hear her deep feminine voice through the other side of the door say. "Come in." "Hey beautiful. You okay?" "No bey I don't think I can go through with this." "Ok, ok, ok, Ashley I know this seems like a lot too fast. And also a lot of pressure, but you can do this. I believe in you, Jay believes in you, all your friends and family believes in you." "Family, tuh, my friends are my family." I scoff "What do you mean?" Bey ask confused. "My Father basically disowned me because of my sexuality. My mother was brainwashed by him. He tried to stop her from seeing me but I still see her sometimes. She tells me that she's going to divorce him soon, but I don't know. I'm pretty sure besides my mom and her side of the family he's turned everyone, including the church against me." "Awww sweetie I'm so sorry to hear that. You poor thing. That must really be a lot to handle, knowing that your own family isn't even here to support you." "Yeah it sucks but it's whatever." "Come here." Beyoncé pulls me into her . I can smell her minty breath. And how soft her hands are. Wait Ashley what are you thinking, you have a whole girlfriend. I chuckle to myself at my wondering thoughts. Beyoncé wipes a tear from my cheek that I didn't know was there. "Ash you'll do fine. Even if everything doesn't go well we all still have your back. You know who I mean who I say by we, right?" She questions "Yes. All my friends, Jay and yourself." "Oh So were not your friends?" Beyoncé playfully puts her hands on her chest. "Of course I didn't mean it like that." "I know but all your closest friends you should consider as family." "Your right." "Ain't I always?" Bey says giving her hair a flip causing me to giggle. "But now I need you to relax, have some drinks or two. Trust me you'll be just fine." "Okay." Bey left my dressing room and I took her advice. I relaxed and I even took her up on the offer about the drinks. Four hours til the 1 hour to the concert starts and two hours until Bey brings me out. I already knew who was coming to support me. I invited my mom but I doubt she'll come.
6:00 pm concert starts.
The concert starts right in time and everyone. "How y'all doing Colorado?" Bey shouts and everyone goes wild. "I can't hear you." They respond and bey finishes her intro for her opening song. "Now guys I know y'all gone be a lil upset but i need to ask my ladies who run the world?" "Girls!" All the ladies shout. And that's when she starts with her opening song who run the world (girls).
Two hours later(8:00pm)
Ok time is ticking and it's almost my time. My nerves are getting back up there. I take deep breaths to control the little jitters. "Thank y'all. Now I done had the spotlight for some time but I think someone else deserves it. A special friend of mine who has worked really hard to give y'all a special performance." Oh God please don't say my name. "Future artist at Roc Nation." No, no, no. "Give it up for Ashley Knowles, no relation." Bey jokes.
