LUMOS

「ONE UNIVERSE, NINE PLANETS, TWO HUNDRED FOUR COUNTRIES, EIGHT HUNDRED NINE ISLANDS, AND SEVEN SEAS AND I HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF MEETING YOU」✯
CHAPTER ONEPlatform nine and three quarters was filled to the brim on September first, children laughing and talking, while their parents watched with bittersweet smiles and shining eyes. The smell of candy and books was wafting through the air, a smell that Everly enjoyed, despite the scent of pollution coming from the gargantuan, scarlet train, also. As it was, the Lupin family stood out to the side, hugging and saying their goodbyes.
"I'm going to miss you all," Everly told them, tears gathering in her honey-colored eyes. She gently pushed Evan's shoulder, before pulling him into a hug, "Even you, Evy," she told him, smiling genuinely as he mumbled that he loved her too, seeming embarrassed as he pushed her away.
"We'll miss you too, dear," Harper assured, hugging Everly for one last time, until possibly Christmas. "Be good, alright? Make good grades. Respect all your professors and remember to eat properly, alright?" The auburn-haired woman shot off quickly, still holding onto Ever tightly.
"I think she gets it, dear," Remus smiled, hugging Everly himself when Harper let go. "Be good, but remember to have fun. Do your best to make good grades and respect all your professors, but don't take anything from them, is what your mother means." He ignored the glare Harper was giving him, kissing Everly on the head.
"I will, I will," Everly promised, smiling at her parents, her eyes shining from the tears of having to say goodbye to them for the first times. "I should go now," she told them, stroking her white cat, Frosty, short for Frosty the Snowman, for comfort. She was spectacularly happy, of course, she just hadn't ever been away from her parents for more than a few days. She knew she'd miss them dearly, especially the way her parents fake offended each other all the time.
"Remember to owl us!" Harper called out as Everly pushed her cart towards the train. She didn't have to answer, she knew. Harper knew she would. The young redhead pushed her cart where everyone else was, to eight students who were older and were separating luggage near the front of the train. After smiling and saying thanks to the girl that took her cart, she got on the Hogwarts Express, Frosty in her arms.
Everly slipped by the students standing outside the compartments easily, being so small. She walked in the first empty compartment that she found; she smiled pleasantly when she saw the inside. It was quite large, larger than it looked on the outside. It was covered in red: the seats, the curtains that were draped over the giant window in the middle of the wall, and the carpeted floor were all a bright red. There was a small, one-person table, about big enough for three books, hung off the wall under the window.
