Jacque realised something was wrong with Linda. The whole time, she was giving him comparative looks, and she was always dazing off, her eyes would have this sharp glint that made one shiver in fear.

Jacque also realised that she was always running off to bother Oliver and Jacque. he had mixed feelings here, he should be glad that Oliver was no longer bothering him, but now his mate was the one bothering them. If he didn't know better he would have thought his mate was the second Oliver, chasing after the new student that glared at him, Vincent Quinn.

" Linda." he called out, holding her wrist back.

" What!" She burst out, seemingly annoyed.

" Where are you going? Did you forget about our date?" He asked, he was worried about her these few days.

" None of your business! Just leave me alone! You're just the second male lead!" She screamed t him and he frowned. What the hell was going on? Second male lead?

With that she ran off to who knows where. It was only after awhile that he realised that she went off bothering Vincent again. Having no choice, he went to Vincent and Oliver.

Vincent who greeted him with cold eyes, not forgetting how he treated his mate previously. Facing the contempt, Jacque rubbed his neck apologizing to Oliver. " Sorry, and I'm happy for you."

" What do you need? " Vincent spoke on behalf of Oliver, although his tone simmered down, he still had his guard up.

" It's just my mate, Linda. She's acting weird lately. I heard she keeps troubling you.." Oliver took a closer look at Jacque, he had huge eyebags, his handsome face seemingly aged and tired and his hair was a mess. He was no longer that perfect school prince.

Oliver knew what was going on, but of course he didn't tell.

"That's right, control your mate." Vincent snarled a bit, annoyed at the idea of Linda. All previous feelings of acquaintance they had all flushed down.

"The thing is I need your help. She calls me the second male lead or something. I have absolutely no idea whats going on." He sighed tousling his hair. His defeated appearance made Vincent glance at him again changing his views.

" I know." Oliver popped out quietly.

" You do?" Both Vincent and Jacque said at the same time, looking at him with wide eyes.

" I do." He sent a tiny smile.

" Female lead syndrome." Was all Oliver said. It was half bullshit and half true. Vincent looked at Oliver in amusement having an inkling on what it was but at the same time he was disgusted, he also had a general idea on where it was going.

On the other hand, Jacque was as clueless as a newborn. He didn't understand the concept of female leads and all, he was the school prince and he studied books of knowledge like geography and stuff. Who would have thought, with Oliver near him, he would be obsessed with fanfictions and light novels in the future?

" It is a syndrome whereby the girl thinks herself as the female lead, wanting to find her male lead. The second male lead is a character whereby he loves or likes the female lead but unable to win her heart. It is always the male lead who wins the female leads heart in the end, no matter what."

" So you're telling me, she doesn't see me as a mate? In this case who is the male lead?" Jacque said quite hurt from the new found knowledge. " How can I trust you?" This question made Oliver smirk which made the other two glance confusedly.

Oliver took a book out of his bag and smirked. Who knew what compelled him to take this from the library that day, but it was made useful afterall.
