Chapter Five: I Will Find Her

Jugheads POV:

"Damnit!!!" I screamed throwing my phone across the room. I ran my hands through my raven black hair, pulling my beanie off of my head. Betty is being tortured and I cant do anything. I felt useless sitting on my bed holding my head in my hands. I needed a plan. I needed a plan fast. I moved from my bead to where I had thrown my phone. I picked it up and sent a text to Toni. 

Gather the serpents at the whyte wyrm.

I headed to the bar as fast as I could, not caring that I had ran at least 3 red lights. I arrived outside of the bar and practically jumped off of my bike. I walked into the wyrm and sat at the bar. "What can I get you?" Hogeye asked. I needed something strong. Something to drown out my thoughts of betty and feelings of guilt. "Something strong." I replied as I watched the bar doors waiting for Toni. Hogeye passed me the unknown liquid to me. I stared at it before downing the whole thing and putting the glass back on the counter. The drink hadn't done what I wanted it to. I still felt the pain. That's when Toni and the rest of the serpents entered the bar. "Gather them by the stage!" I yelled to Toni. She nodded and led the serpents to the area in front of the stage.

I made my way to the stairs, taking deep breaths not wanting to break down in front of the serpents. I collected myself and got on stage. "Serpents!" I yelled stopping the extra chatter. "our rival gang the ghoulies has taken Betty Cooper!" I yelled earning a couple gasps from the crowd. "We need to get her back! Even if we are risking war with the ghoulies! She may not have long," I whispered the last part but due t the microphone, everyone heard. "Inner circle serpents stay back! The rest are dismissed! You will be informed of the plan tomorrow!" I yelled. I felt tears forming in my eyes so I exited the stage so no one would see. Sweet pea, Fangs, and Toni pulled me into a group hug as soon as I got to the bar stool. "What do we do?" Sweet pea asked. I didn't know how to answer. We a4re going in blind. "We have to send scouts to find out where Betty is. I suggest we take it one step at a time. Lets figure out where she is then go from there," Toni chimed in. I only nodded scared that if I opened my mouth tears would fall out of my eyes. 

"You should go home Jug. You need to sleep," Fangs told me. I again nodded as he pulled me into a hug. I walked out of the bar to my bike and drove home. I stumbled into my trailer, all of the tears I had been holding in fell down my face. I felt anger surge through me. I fell into the living room and ripped everything off of the tables and shelves in front of me. Damnit why cant she just be happy? She doesn't deserve any of this. "I'm sorry Betty," I choked out. I wanted nothing more than to take her place, to make sure she is safe. I hated that I couldn't do anything to help her, but I will find her, no matter how long it takes.
