Jugheads POV:

"Drop it Jughead."

I didn't want to drop it. I wanted to continue to press her until she told me what was wrong, but I didn't. "Okay." I sat on the couch and wrapped my arms around her. She sighed and wiped her face. We stayed like this for a while until Betty had fallen asleep. I laid her on the couch and went to put the uneaten pops in the kitchen. As I was making my way to the kitchen my phone buzzed in my pocket. I quickly took my phone out of my pocket setting the pops on the counter. It was a text from Sweet pea telling me about an emergency serpent meeting. I groaned, not wanting to leave the house.  I went into my room and grabbed apiece of paper and pen and wrote a note to Betty for when she woke up.

Had to go to a serpent meeting. I will be back soon. XOXO -Jughead

I set the note on the counter and left. I sat on my motorcycle and drove out of the trailer park.

Bettys POV:

I woke up in jugheads bed without anyone next to me. I sat up and looked around for him. I didn't see him. I left Jugheads room and walked into the kitchen, "Jug?" I asked as I didn't see him at all. I had soon spotted the note he had left for me. I sighed and plopped onto the living room couch. All I could think about was the news I had been given yesterday. I couldn't think about anything else. It was consuming my thoughts. How would I tell Jughead about any of this? He will be crushed. I don't think I can bear to do that to him. I sighed and decided to try to get some sleep. I barley slept last night so I was exhausted.

I woke up to the sound of the door opening. I sat up to see Jughead walking through the door. "Hey Jug." I said groggily. "Hey Betts." He walked over and sat on the couch next to me. "Did you sleep well?" I nodded and laid my head on his shoulder. "How are you feeling?" The phone call I had received played on repeat in my head. "Good." I lied. I hoped he wouldn't see through my lie. "Are you sure Betts?" I once again nodded. I didn't want to lie to him but I just couldn't tell him. A small part of me still hoped that this was all a bad dream and that I would wake up with jugheads arms wrapped around me. I didn't want this to be reality. Why did this all have to happen? Why now? "I love you Jughead." I told him. Considering everything that had just happened I wanted to make sure he knows that. "I love you too Betty." We sat on the old couch for a while in a comfortable silence. I wanted to tell Jughead. I wanted him to comfort me. I wanted him to tell me everything was going to be okay even though I know it isn't. Nothing ever is. I decided to that I wanted to tell him the news somewhere that is sentimental to us. "Hey Jug, want to go down to sweet water river?" He looked at me with a signature Jughead Jones smirk. "Sure Betty. What's the occasion?" I paused thinking of what to say. " I, uh, I need to tell you something, something important." He gave me a worried look but stood up from the couch. " You coming?" He asked me. I giggled and hopped up from the couch. I followed him to his motorcycle. "Hop on Betts." I did as I was told and sat on the back of the bike. I wrapped my hands tightly around Jughead. I felt the bike start under us as we began to drive out of sunny side trailer park. I loved the feeling of the wind in my hair. It was freeing after being in the hospital.

3rd person:

The two arrived at sweet water river. One of the most beautiful sights in Riverdale. A place where people come to make happy memories with family and friends, however this was not the case with Betty and Jughead. The pair made there way to a cliff that sat right above the crystal clear water. The couple seemed normal from any onlooker but little did they know that the perfect silence wouldn't last long.

"Okay Jughead, I need you to stay calm when I tell you this okay?" The blonde girl who was known for her fake smiles and perfect ponytails, was disheveled. Her hair was messy and she was in baggy clothing. This was a major difference from her normal appearance. While the blonde haired girl was falling apart all the beanie wearing boy wanted was to save her. "I promise he assured her. There were a few more seconds of silence. This wasn't the perfect silence of before but a silence filled with anticipation and fear surrounding the two teenagers. Betty opened her mouth but closed it again. She couldn't decide where to start, so she spoke exactly what she was thinking.

"I really don't know how to say this. So I'll start from the beginning. When Malachi kidnapped me and stabbed me. You know that of course. I....Uh.....when I was at the hospital they of course fixed my stab wound but they ran some other tests just to make sure nothing was wrong. Most of the tests came back fine and normal. They had a few more that they wanted to analyze so they let me go home and said they would get back to me. I was pretty confident that everything was okay until they messaged me back. You were out at pops and the hospital had called me. I picked up the phone and they told me that there was something wrong with one of the tests. They told me that Malachi had drugged me and it had messed up my cell division and..." A tear rolled down her face. "Jug I have cancer." One tear turned into may tears steaming down her face. Jughead on the other hand was stunned. In his pure shock and fear he wrapped his arms around the fragile broken girl. "Its okay Betty. You will be okay."
