Chapter 7

(Lukes' POV)

"Shh, somebody will hear us," Alana failed miserably at her attempts to hold in her laughter.We were on our way to the lake, by the looks of it we were half way there but it's hard to tell in the dark.I was telling her one of my famous un-funny jokes, they were so un-funny that it somehow made it funny.She carried on cracking up, so hard a small snort came out.She quickly covered her mouth in shock and turned red.

"You don,t need to cover up in front of me," I removed her hand from her face and smied, "If it means anything, I think you look beautiful when you laugh."

(Alanas POV)

"If it means anything, I think you look beautiful when you laugh."

Butterflies errupted in my stomach and my cheeks went red.He just called me beautiful! No ones EVER called me beautiful before, well except for my mum of course but that doesn't really count.Oh god, he's still looking at me! What do I do?! I notice we're at the lake.

"Oh erm that's good.Hey, look at that! We're at the lake" I mentally faced palmed.'that's good'? What I thinking?I'm so stupid! I couldn't bare to see Lukes' reaction so I scurried towards the lake and sat down on the picnic bench.

(Lukes' POV)

Great move Luke you've officially creeped her out! Why did I have to say that? I kept my eyes on her as she sat down on the picnic bench.I awkwardly sat down next to her.

"It's erm, it's really breathtaking at night," she commented.She was right there were no street lights around so you could see so many more stars in the night sky.

"Tell me about it, for the last three nights i've snuck out and came here.It's really peaceful and helps me think."

"Think about what?"

"Anything.Family, friends, I even brought my guitar here to play once.There's never a minute silence with my family," 

"You play guitar?" Alana seemed shocked.

"Yeah I love playing guitar, I can just get lost  in each strum."

"Wow, that's exactly how I feel, I play guitar too!" she beamed. I thought she couldn't get any more attractive.Was I wrong or what? Urgh, I need to stop thinking these things.It's not like she could ever feel the same way, did you see the way she practically RAN away from me when I told her laugh was beautiful? Okay Luke, calm down I can just be her friend. Yeah friend...

"That's so weird, how about we...play together some time?" I suggested

"That'd be awe- Oh NO. I didn't bring my guitar.You know when I was told I was going to be staying in a cabin for three weeks I didn't think I would need my guitar,"

"That's fine we can take turns and share mine."

"Thanks," she smiled. We stared out across the lake for a few mintes in awe of the natural beauty then I felt Alana shiver against me.

"Are you cold?"I worried.

"A bit, but it's okay," she shrugged.I wrapped one of my arms around her and rubbed her arm trying to warm her up.Should I be doing this? Why not, it's a friendly gesture isn't it?I need to stop being so paranoid.Thankfully Alana then looked up at me for a secod and smiled, before laying her head on my shoulder.My heart started beating faster than it ever has before.How is it possible that a girl can do this to me?

(Alanas' POV)

As I sat there with my head on his shoulder, I realised how much i'm starting to like him.If only he felt the same way.Yes, he called me beautiful and put his arm around me but it was just a friendly gesture.I sighed.

"What's the matter Alana?" he asked.Why is he still calling me that, usually my friends or close people call me Ally and yes, I consider Luke my friend.Which is deffinately unusual, i'm not one for friends and I think i've mentioned it before.But there's something about Luke that makes me want to be around him.

"Nothing and you can call me Ally by the way," 

"Okay...Ally," he winked, "Well you can call me...erm...what can you call me?" I had the best nickname for him!

"Lukey," I smiled while I pinched his cheeks.

(Lukes' POV)

She pinched my cheeks as she announced her new nickname for me.Usually I hated when my mum called me Lukey or when my brothers teased me with it but it sounded so perfect when it came from her mouth.

"Lukey it is," I agreed.

For the rest of the night we discussed nearly about everything; hobbies, favourite things, family, riends and my hear filled with sorrow when she told me she only had one friend.How can someone as amazing as her have just one friend? She is shy I admit but once you get to know her you're overjoyed someone that special evenexists in your life.We sat there until we saw the sky getting lighter, the sun was rising.I pulled her closer to me.

"It's a wonderful sight," I spoke

"Mhm"  she responded while nodding her head.

"We better get going,"she said while standing up and stretching.

"Yeah," I mumbled even though I didn't want to leave.

We started walking back. I took a chance and grabbed her hand.To my suprise she didn't pull away but closed the small gap between us, onceagain laying her head on my shoulder.Soon we got to our cabins.

"Well I guess this is bye," I started.

"Yeah, I gues it is," she paused for a while then began speaking again, " Thankyou Luke...You might have woke me up but i forgive you," she giggled.She was truly adorable.

"No problem," I was about to turn away when all of a sudden she grabbed my hands, leaned onto her tip-toes and kissed my cheek.Immediately she looked at me shocked, even she couldn't believe she did that.

"Don't be," I put a strand of hair behind her ear, which had fallen in front of her eye.I slowly leanedin and pecked her gently on the lips.It only lasted a second but it was magnificent.Sparks NO fireworks were felt all around my body and butterflies errupted in my stomach.As we pulled away, I gained a new feeling of confidence.I grinned at her. 

"I'll see you later,"then winked turning around and walked away. BEST DAY/NIGHT/MORNING EVER!!!

(Alanas' POV)

I CAN NOT BELIVE I KISSED HIM! THEN HE KISSED ME! WHAT IS HAPPENING?!?! It was amazing! I don't really know what to say other than the feeling of his plump soft lips against mine was something I'd  never  forget. When we said goodbye I turned and began walking towards my cabin.I quietly opened the door and got into bed. BEST DAY/NIGHT/MORNING EVER!!!
