Magic. The source of power within the world. The ones with magic are considered superior while those who were born without magic are considered inferior. The magic users are known as Magi, while the non-magic users are known as Mundane. The two sides have lived in harmony. The Magi lived in a kingdom, away from the Mundane. Surrounded by a powerful magical wall, pushing away all the unwanted.

Over the years has passed, the two kinds have lived without war. Until the rebellion was formed. The rebellion is a group of Mundane, who disagree and hated the Magi for their power. Living in riches and glory for their magical power they were born with. The royal family of the Magi kingdom has declared a law. ‘Those who take the life of a Magi shall be imprisoned and put to death.’ The law has crossed across the Mundane world. The Mundane all over has shivered in fear. The rebellion has decreased, for death is something they feared the most. But there are still some rebellion soldiers that did not back down. They are planning to attack the kingdom once again.

The war has gotten brutal and there are rumors. Rumors of the rebellions performing a ritual. It is forbidden for Mundane to commit magical rituals for they do not have the power or knowledge. Those who have committed these rituals have said to lose their humanity and their soul. The royal family has issued an order. ‘Hunt down the imbeciles who committed the crime. The Mundane shall pay for their foolishness for disgracing the Magi. Hunt them down. Make them pay for their disgrace.’

“Hey. Are you sure this is a good idea,” asked a man with orange hair.

“What choice do we have? Those Magi soldiers are getting more powerful by the minute,” said another man with green eyes. The two men argued on the plan they have in stored.

“We have no other choice.” Then another man with blue eyes appeared from the darkness of the forest. “We have to get stronger. We have to win.” The two argued men stared at the blue eyed man. They both nodded their head and move forward.

After walking through the dark forest, the three men made their way to a campsite, where their comrades await them. They comrades welcome them back. A man with glasses, another man with dark brown skin, a girl with violet eyes, and a man with blond long hair and golden eyes.

“Is everyone ready? Everyone got one, right,” asked the man with the golden eyes. “Good. Then let’s begin.”

“Are you all sure we want to do this I mean there must be a reason why ‘we’ can’t do it right,” a girl spoke her mind as she is shivering in fear.

“We are out of options. The soldiers are getting stronger by each day and getting more people hurt. We need the power to stop them,” said the man with the golden eyes. “Now let’s begin.”

All seven stand in a circle. On top of a magic circle. Each has brought out a dead animal in front of them. Laying their bodies carefully in front of them and each pulled out a knife.

They used the knife to each give themselves a cut for their blood to spill on the dead animal bodies. The circle started to glow. Wind surrounding them, pulling them closer within the circle.

Finally, the man with the golden eyes began to chant.

‘Power that flows within the earth, come forth and grant us strength. We seek the power to strike down our enemies. To give them the suffering as they have given us. Grant us the strength, speed, and power of the beasts. We offer these sacrifice for the power we SEEK.’

The dead animals started to glow and slowly the bodies start to disappear into dust. Until finally, the bodies completely disappear. The wind stopped, the light disappeared and silence took over.

“So…what happens now,” asked the man with glasses.

“Don’t tell me that this was nothing but a joke,” said the orange haired man.

“AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!” The girl screamed. All the men looked at her. Hugging herself because of the aching pain. “My…body….it feels..likes…it's…ripping..apart.”

Then suddenly two more started to scream. All of them looked at each other. Their bodies started to experience pain. Started to change in an unexpected way. Fangs growing out from their mouths, skin turning to fur, feathers, or scales, hands changing to claws or talons.

“What …what is this?” The wolf looked at his hand and saw it transformed into claws.

“This…cannot be.” The bear startled by his own transformation.

“Did something go wrong?” The fox concern with fear. Desperate for answers to what has happened to them.

“Shut up. We’ll figure this out but we must go back.” The griffon command. He saw his comrades being transformed to neither animals nor humans. Every one of each has transformed into humanoid-animals. Even though they talk like normal humans, their appearance was a mixture of human and beast.

The seven beasts arrived back to their camp site. Other rebellions spotted the beasts approach and ready their weapons.

“STOP!” One of the soldiers shouted. Pointing his sword towards the beasts.

The griffon lifted his talons a gesture of peace. “Stop. We have returned from our quest.”

The soldier was speechless. “Commander? Is that you? Then the other monsters are the captains.”

“Yes. We have returned and it seems we have succeeded on our mission. We now have the power to take on the Magi army.” The griffon said such pride.

“That is amazing Commander…commander…” The soldier hesitated.

“What is the matter?” The wolf asked with worry and concern. The soldier looked at wolf and other beasts.

“I…I cannot remember your names.” The beasts were shocked. “I know who you are…but your name…your face…your human face. It is all a blank.”

“That is not possible.” The lion was furious and shocked. “I know my name. My name is...” He opened his mouth but nothing came. “My name…is.” Putting his paws on his head. “What was it again?” The others beasts also try to remember their names, but it never came. While performing the rituals, it took not only their appearance but also something they valued.

Their humanity.

Their appearance changed, their mind forgotten of their human-form and became monster within the Mundane world. The world has forgotten their face, name, everything leading to their previous-self.

The ritual granted their wish. They have been granted power. The power of the beasts.
