Seungmin did actually know what it meant, but Hyunjin could find out the meaning another day.——————————————
(AN: This chapter includes a kinda graphic description of a dead creature so just be warned if you don't like that stuff :) )
Today was the day.
Hyunjin felt his blood pump and heart race with mixed emotions as he turned the steering wheel to the left. It had been around twenty minutes since the partners left for their first task together, now enjoying their silent car trip to the nearby shopping mall where they were supposed to park their vehicle. Although the lot was located a few blocks away from their designated building, the coordinates wouldn't leave easy suspicion behind for the drug lord running this whole sham.
Part 1 of this whole plan was quite simple (if done correctly). It was just meant to be a quick in-and-out look at the interior of the abandoned structure, and then they'd be back on their way with some potential evidence. Previous research on the statistics stated that this method was basically fail-proof, providing Hyunjin with a great way to boost his low reputation.
"Here we are" Seungmin's voice cut through the silence. Throughout their short voyage, the boy had been busy staring dazedly outside of the passenger seat window, admiring the details of the city he once lived in. But, as they began to enter the poorer part of the city, the memories stopped to a halt. He faintly remembered a foggy voice in the back of his head telling him 'Seungmin, make sure you never come near this area' some time when he was much younger than he is now. Now that he thought about it, the voice had most likely belonged to his father - a very worried and caring person. He wasn't a bad person in the slightest; just very careful when observing his son's attitudes towards life. After all, he didn't want his only son to become invested with bad people and drugs for the rest of his life.
As it was early evening when they had arrived at their parking destination, there were plenty of empty spaces within the parking lot, making it a simple task for the elder agent to discover a free spot to park his car in. Looking over to his left, he saw Seungmin turning the tiny air conditioner panels to the side so that they weren't facing him. Hyunjin couldn't help but let the small smile that dared to spread on his lips bloom.
"Are you cold?" Hyunjin reversed into an empty spot he found in the far corner of the lot, the most deserted area.
"Just a bit," he sighed in response, "I highly regret not putting on my hoodie beforehand now"
"Oh well, we're here now anyways" the taller boy spoke whilst he reached over and behind the armrest console to grab a hold of the other's pitch black hoodie that contrasted with the white ripped jeans he wore and a dark Nike backpack. As the duo still hadn't acquired themselves a fake identity, dark hoodies that covered the majority of their faces would just have to do for now.
Spreading out the sleeves of the clothing item, Hyunjin laid the material around his partner's neck in a gentle manner. Seemingly overjoyed by the act, Seungmin turned to face his defender, only to reach up and begin pinching Hyunjin's cheek with one hand.
"Thank you, Jinnie!"
Now, Hyunjin had two choices to decipher from. He could either gracefully faint into his seat due to heart malfunctions, or, he could hold in all of those emotions and continue on with his job like he was supposed to. The second option seemed more suitable than the first.
