Cindi POV

The sound of my alarm clock woke me up. I sighed and yawned getting out of bed. I walked into the bathroom, remembering that I had cut my hair last night. I smiled to myself and started up the shower. I stripped and entered, feeling the warm droplets drop onto my soft white skin. I shampooed my hair and hummed a song to myself. I stepped out and dried myself and hair.

I walked out of the bathroom and pulled out the clothes Veronic had given me last night. "Looking at it now, it's cute," I mumbled to myself and lotioned my soft skin. I added some deodorant and spray and put on my romper that had a black crop top to go along with it. I slipped it on and put on some heels.

I slowly walked downstairs, trying not to trip or fall. I saw that the living room was empty. "Maybe he went to work," I told myself and snagged a granola bar. I opened it up and took a bite of it. I took my backpack and my phone and was out the door. I locked it and walked down the street to head to school. I heard a car pull up behind me but I ignored it. I heard the person honk and beep and that's when I turned around and realized it was Veronica.

"Damn, girl! You look bad!" She said staring at me up and down. "Thanks, and it's your outfit you bought yesterday,"
"I know, that's why I gave it to you."

"Are we just going to sit here, or are you going to give me a ride?"
''Hop in, best friend." I did as she said and sat in the front seat.

"Girl, you're going to get all the boys' attention,"

"Are you sure I don't look like a whore?"
"How many times do I have to tell you. You look bad as fuck! And if the outfit made you look like a whore, wouldn't I have given it to Phoebe?" I laughed at her joke and she proceeded to drive. "You'll most likely get Joshua's attention." She said smirking and I rolled my eyes. "I think he's mad at me because of yesterday." I told her and she said, "Bullshit! He can't stay mad at you after he sees how bad you look, Cici!"

"I think your right, I do like bad." And we both laughed and pulled up into the school's parking lot. There were kids at the front talking and laughing but as soon as we stepped out, eyes were on us. "Just keep walking confidently," Veronica whispered in my ear and I nodded ignoring all the stares and comments.

"See you later. I'm going to go speak to Coach McGraw."

"Alright, see ya, best friend." We hugged and she was on her way. I opened my locker and began taking out books and I saw Joshua and his teammates in the hall. Joshua was turned to them and talking but stopped once he saw me. "Yeah, I'll catch up with you later." He told Phil, one of his teammates which is also his best friend.

"Hey, Cindi," He said, closing my locker and looking at me up and down. I wasn't sure, but I think I saw him bite his lip for a second.

"Hello, Joshua," I replied. "Look, I just wanna apologize about-"

"Look, it's cool. I'm over it. I know sometimes we have bad days and say things out of anger," I smiled and he smiled back. "So, what made you want to dress up?" He asked, leaning against a person's locker that was next to mine. "I don't know, really," I said honestly. "You look sexy." He said and I blushed.

"Thanks,"

"And I'm sorry about what Phoebe did to you. She's still not over the breakup."

"No, it's fine. I totally get it. If that was me, I'd do the same, too." He chuckled and said, "You still coming to the football game?"

"Of course, it's nice to show some support for your team,"

"Damn, how are you always so cool?" I screamed inside my head. Joshua Turner thinks I'm cool! "Your cool, too," I replied and he smirked. "Well, it's almost time for class. Mind if I walk you over?" He offered and I nodded.

We walked together, getting stares and dirty looks from other students in the hall or passing by. As usual, I ignored it and continued walking, catching Joshua glare at me a couple of times. "What class do you have?" He asked. "My first period is Science," I told him and his face lit up. "Cool! Me too," I smiled and we walked together and opened the door. "Good morning Mrs Davis." I greeted the teacher and she said, "Morning to you, too," She looked tired, so I can tell she wasn't in the mood for other students' bullshit.

"She doesn't look too good," I heard Joshua whisper in my ear. I chuckled and he sat down next to me. "How's Veronica?" He asked, randomly. "She's good?" I replied, in more of a question than an answer. "Alright, students, take your seats. As you can tell, I'm not in the mood for any of your attitudes. So sit down, and take out your books and do your assignment." Mrs Davis spoke up and everyone groaned.

"Aw, so sad. I don't care!" She faked pouted and everyone went straight to work.

Lunchtime rolled around, and I sat with Veronica on the daily basis. "So, how was class with Joshua?" She asked trying to spark up a conversation. "Okay, I guess." I bit my burger and she stared at me. "It has to be more than okay! You looked happy."

"That doesn't mean-" I was cut off when Joshua and his teammates, sat with us. "Mind if we sit here?" He asked and Veronica said, "Actually, yes I do mind I was trying to-" I cut her off and kicked her knee under the table.

"Sure, you guys can sit here." I said and they all put their trays down and sat. "So, Cindi, I heard your coming to the football game," Phil said and I smiled at him. "Yeah, it's nice to show some support."
"Did you hear there's a homecoming this year?" I heard, Christopher, the second captain of the team say. I almost choked on my food, "What? A h-homecoming? The school never had a homecoming before!" I exclaimed causing other tables to look.

"Cindi, lower your voice," Veronica said and I nodded. "Yeah, I over heard Coach McGraw and Mr. Louis talking when I was in the office," Christopher announced. "Oh, Didi, if you go, I have to pick out your dress, do your hair, makeup, and pick out your shoes!" Veronica said almost to happily.

"Wish you luck." Joshua said and we all laughed. From the corner of  my eye, I saw Phoebe and her friends look out direction and whisper to each other. "I'm going to the bathroom," I lied and excused my self.

"Alright, bitch, what the hell is your problem? Are you mad I took your man?" I said and she laughed. "Oh, honey, you didn't take shit from me," she replied. "I only used him because he would get me popularity."
"You little snake! After everything the has given you, you used him for the benefit of popularity?" One of her 'Minons' spoke up.

"How about you mind your damn business?"
"Was I speaking to you? Last time I checked, I was speaking to this bitch right here," I said, pointing to Phoebe. she gave a dirty face and I walked away and I sat  back down with the group.

"Thanks for letting us sit her, Cindi," one of the guys on the team thanked. "It's nothing. Me and Veronica love having new people in our table." I said and everyone smiled.
