We spent the rest of the night working on our projects and flirting with each other until Jamie had to go. I pouted, but he promised he'll see me tomorrow at school. He kissed my forehead she gave me a hug.
I changed into my pyjamas and scrolled through my Instagram.

I saw Jamie had liked my picture. I smiled and held my phone to my chest.

I walked down the street to go to school. I hummed a song to myself and clutched my phone tightly in my hand. Many students were outside and some glared and whispered about me. I shrug it off and walked in.
I went up to my locker and saw Joshua approach me. "Hey, Cindi," he greeted. "Look, I'm sorry I've been distant. Something came up."
"Oh, like how you were fucking another girl?" He looked at me shocked and opened his mouth but closed it. "Yeah, that's what I thought. I saw you having sex with some girl yesterday. I went to your house to see what was up with you."
"Cindi I can explain-" I cut him off. "No need to. I get that you don't want to be with me. It's a shame that on homecoming I was going to ask you to be my boyfriend. And guess what? Me and you to h that's a no. I'm going with Jamie."
"Cindi, please don't do this." "Don't do what? Remember, I didn't cheat. It was you. But don't worry, karma comes back. And karma's a bitch." I slammed my locker and walked away.
I walked to the bathroom and locked myself in a stall. I threw my backpack onto the floor and sat with the toilet seat closed. I sat there for about 5 minutes until I heard the bell. Shit. I remembered I had a class with Joshua.
I ran out of the bathroom and into the first period, seeing Joshua sitting at our table. "Mrs Davis," I spoke up, "Is it okay if I change my seat for the rest of the year?"
"Why? What's the problem?" "It's just- Joshua and I are going through things. Like you know, teenage drama and what not." "Well, take as much time as you like. You may sit wherever you're comfortable with." "Thank you, Mrs Davis." She nodded her head and clapped her hands, to get the class's attention.
I walked past Joshua and he frowned. I blew him a kiss and sat in my seat, ignoring him turning to look back at me. I took out my English notebook and took some notes that I knew was going to be useful.
I felt little paper being thrown at me. I turned and saw Joshua looking at me. I picked it up and it read; "I'm so sorry, Cindi. I never met to hurt you." I rolled my eyes and crumbled it up. I threw it at his face and paid my attention to Mrs Davis.
After first period was over, I ran out before Joshua could catch up with me. I went inside of science and saw Jamie sitting down, drawing something. "What 'cha drawing I asked?" He covered it and shoved it in his bag. Okay, weird. I shrug it off and sat next to him.
"I'm glad you were my partner," he said to me and smiled. "Me too, I'm also glad you're my date to homecoming." We smiled and I leaned on him. From the door, I saw Joshua with his fists balled up. He shook his head and walked away.
Class finally started and we both paid our full attention.

School was over and I waited in the school parking lot for Jamie. He convinced me to let him drive me home. I saw Joshua and his teammates looking at me. I ignored their stares and comments. "Yo, you let a fine ass go." I heard some kid say.
I looked in their direction and stuck up my middle finger them. They laughed and Joshua approached me. I ignored his presence and was about to walk away until he grabbed my arm and said, "I'm dropping you off home," I smelt his breath and it smelt like he's been taking drugs. "No! I'm going home with Jamie. Let me go." I tried to snatch my arm back but that only made his grip tighten.
Jamie came out and yanked Joshua's hand off mine. "Bro, she said to let her go." He took my hand and we walked to his car. "Nobody was talking to you, punk." Joshua got up in his face. Jamie was taller by about three inches. Jamie pushed him then got in the car.
"You okay? Did he hurt you?" "Not really. He just grabbed my arm awfully rough."
He examined my arm then smiled at me. "I'll get you some ice when we get to the house," He reassured me and I nodded my head.
Joshua's POV
The terrified look on her face caught me off guard. I watched Jamie come out from the school and separated my hand from hers. "Bro, she said to let her go." He took her to his car, "Nobody was talking to you, punk." I said, getting all up in his face. He was about three inches taller than me. He pushed me and I stumbled back but regained my balance.
I watched him put Cindi in the car and pull out of the parking lot. He left and I scoffed and turned to Phil and some of my teammates. "Not cool, Josh," I heard Phil say I was about to speak up until he said, "That is considered harassment. Get your shit together then speak to me." He and the rest of the group walked away.
