JIMINS POV
*5 years later*

Medical school has been a wild journey but I was almost done. I was really good in college and so they let me go into medical school very early. I completed so much in only 5 years.

I actually fell in love with the ophthalmology field and everyone that taught me said I'd make a fine surgeon since I have very steady hands and good eyes and a lot of talent for it, I had offers for internships all over the country but of course I chose Daegu to be close to Yoongi again.

I missed the arts, but I had to do this for Yoongi. Doctors were already very impressed with all the ideas I had come up with to help cases that seemed like there were complicated to solve. I knew that I would find a solution for Yoongi. I already had an idea and it hadn't been done yet, but I wanted to make it happen.

I kept getting updates about Yoongi from Seokjin, Hoseok and Namjoon and they told me he was doing well and adjusting to his life as a blind person. He joined support groups, did many activities for people like him and just kept to himself is what I heard and I was happy to know that he wasn't doing too bad.

We haven't spoken in those years though and I had no idea if he still cared for me or still loved me but I still loved him and wasn't giving up on him.

I became a doctor, I was officially Dr. Park Jimin but I chose to go by a different name because I knew damn well that Yoongi wouldn't want me to try and heal him, he didn't even want me to see him.

He told me that the last time we spoke was a permanent goodbye so, I knew he wouldn't let me operate on him, he would be too scared. I went by Dr. Moon Jihyun. I prayed that he wouldn't realize it was me when I'd see him.

I contacted his parents and told them about my research and they were really happy to hear about it. They knew about me and knew about everything that happened but they had faith that I would fix Yoongi's eyes since I was dedicating every day of my life on this.

The goal was to operate and replace the damaged retinas with new artificial ones. It would be a long shot but many doctors believed it was possible.

After leaving Seoul, I found a little apartment in Daegu that would be close to the hospital I would be working at. I had a long way to go and no privileges in that hospital but the doctors there were really excited to have me and teach me and of course explore this research I've been doing for years.

My little apartment wasn't anything special. It wasn't anything luxury since I barely had money those days. My loans were insanely high but I knew it would be worth it in the end.

I got the keys from the owner and walked in, it was quite dusty since it hadn't been used in forever but it looked okay after I cleaned it and decorated the best I could.

It was simple yet stylish and on a budget. I really liked that I had some decoration sense in me despite only focusing on medicine. Whenever I had free time and wasn't sleeping, I was looking at things like that on Pinterest.

Anyway, after my apartment was settled, I had to get to the hospital early in the morning to begin my internship.

I was nervous, this was my new beginning to becoming an amazing doctor. I wondered what my first surgery would be like and how my research would go.

I walked into the hospital with confidence and met some other doctors that were there for the program. A lot of them recognized me and knew that I was a rare case and the youngest in the program, only at 26.

The chief resident met with us, her name was Dr. Maria Hyun. She was very tall and stern looking but she was the best surgeon in that hospital. I didn't know what her expertise was but I was waiting to meet the best ophthalmologist to get on their service.

Dr. Hyun showed us around and told us what to expect, long hours, being on call all the time, scrubbing into surgeries that we may not like and stuff like that. The thing I cared about the most was my research and getting my hands on some eyes. I hated that I had to spend so much time in this hospital but it was required for me in order to get to where I wanted.

"Dr. Moon Jihyun?"
I looked at Dr. Hyun but kept a straight face, I wonder if they knew my real name.

"We are so glad to have you here. We heard the best things about you. No one really understands why you're so passionate about this one particular field at such a young age and why you've done so much research but, this could open doors for many people so you will be getting on Dr. Chang's service. He's one the best ophthalmologists you'll find and he was very excited to have you here."

I smiled and thanked her for letting me have this pass into what I wanted to do. I didn't think I'd get lucky.
Dr. Chang was a very big and tall man, very attractive too. His hair was long and soft and wavy, it reminded me of Yoongi's hair but he was very different looking.

"Dr. Moon, I know you've been doing an on going research for years now and many doctors have been interested in it as you already know. You're so young, and it's quite fascinating how much you've accomplished." He said as I walked with him through the hospital.
"Yes Dr. Chang. I've been very dedicated."

"How so? Are you that passionate about this field? Or is it for someone?"

"All due respect but, I think what that matters is that we could possibly give light to people that have lost it or have never seen it." I said, I didn't want to reveal too much about why I'm doing this, no one had to know.

"Yes, you're right." He said and continued to walk forward.

We went into a lab where we talked about the research and then we saw some patients. I was very excited to work with patients and express my knowledge and scrub in my first real surgery.
I was excited to see Yoongi some day soon, we just had to perfect this research. We had to make it work...
