After the crazy night with Misty Mice, Sean could barely get out of bed and go to school. Of course Lyla still couldn't shut up about it, she was still hyped for it for the whole week, bugging Sean even more.
A week later, Jenn started to invite her friends and her classmates to her birthday party at her place. Sean was in a dilemma of whether to go or not. Of course Lyla talked him into going to the party with her.
At the party, Lyla bought her a teddy bear since she's into stuffed animals so much. Sean, on the other hand, bought her a blue-laced bracelet.
"Thank you, Sean. I really like the color." Jenn smiled and took the bracelet from Sean's palm.
Sean glanced at Lyla, who winked at him, implying him to be calm and cool.
Sean then winked back and looked back at Jenn.
"You're welcome, I'm glad you like it." Sean tried to act calm as he shoved his hands into his pockets.
Jenn smirked and turned to Lyla. "He's really cute, isn't he?"
Lyla held back her laughter and grinned. "Yeah, he is."
When Jenn left to open other birthday presents. Lyla faced Sean and giggled.
"What's so funny?" Sean frowned.
"You looked so fucking nervous Sean! Look at your hands." Lyla pointed at his shaking hands in his hoodie pockets.
Sean rolled his eyes and sighed. "I'm trying my best, trust me."
Lyla smacked him on the shoulder.
"Trying your best huh? But it worked by the way, " She smiled. "she thinks you're cute."
Sean's cheeks suddenly turned red-- like the whole body was burning red.
"Someone's blushing—" Lyla teased Sean but he cut her off.
"I'm not blushing." Sean denied as he walked a few steps forward and stopped to look at Jenn, who was chatting dynamically with a guy with glasses.
Lyla witnessed it as she took a step closer to Sean and whispered behind his shoulder. "Jenn's really cute."
Sean jumped a bit and turned. "Fuck, can you stop whispering behind my back? It's scary."
Lyla giggled and folded her arms. "Okay okay... but you need to talk to Jenn."
Sean sighed. "But I—I don't know what to talk about."
Lyla's eyes flickering back and forth as she's deep in thought, then stared back at him. "I have a brilliant idea." She said as she walked toward Jenn.
"Hey Jenn!" She smiled.
Hearing Lyla calling her, she turned and faced her. "Lyla, what's the matter?"
"Want to play truth or dare? Losers get to drink a lot of beers."
Jenn grinned. "Of course! Tell Sean to join us."
"There's our birthday girl!"
After a few minutes, the whole crowd of people gathered together and sat on the sofas. Sean sat between Lyla and Jenn.
After playing for a few minutes, Sean had a lot of drinks so he started to talk shit.
They guy called John picked Sean as Sean took another shot.
"Sean, truth or d—"
"DAREEE! THIS GAME'S SOO BORING." Sean said, he was really drunk since his red turned pretty red as well— this time's not about Jenn.
"Okay... I dare you..." John paused as he tried to think of something to say.
There's awkwardness filled the air since Sean was the drunkest guy in the party. And Lyla stared at Sean worriedly.
"To kiss the prettiest girl in the room." He finished his sentence as Sean immediately turned and kissed Jenn, making Lyla jump and widen her eyes. Everyone watched in shock until someone yelled 'get a room'. The atmosphere soon filled in laughter and applause, except for Lyla, who was still in shock and sat there in silence.
The kiss lasted for 10 seconds as Sean let go of her and exclaimed crazily.
After the game, it was midnight so Lyla dragged Sean to walk with her, afraid he would get into trouble since he was totally wasted.
"I'M THE KING OF THE WORLD!" Sean walked with faltering steps as Lyla walked next to him, holding his arms to steady his pace.
"Yeah, you are." Lyla rolled her eyes.
However, Sean almost stumbled over a rock as Lyla pulled his arms to prevent the tragic accident.
"Shit, you wanna stay at my place and take a rest first? I'm afraid you won't make it to your house." She asked.
"I don't need—" Sean didn't get to finish the sentence as he threw up on the floor, almost puked on Lyla's shoes as she groaned. "Fuck! Let's go to my place to get you clean up first, come on—" She putted her arms around his shoulders and supported Sean as he barely had any energy to walk that far. When arrived at Lyla's place, Sean slumped on the sofa as Lyla pulled out a tissue and leaned in to wipe his mouth.
"I don't need your help—" Sean tried to shove her away but Lyla putted her hands on his shoulders.
"Come on, Sean. You really need my help right now." She said blandly as she continued wiping his lips with the tissue.
After that, she putted her hand on Sean's forehead to check if he gets a fever.
"Okay, no fever. That's good." She examined him, trying her best to make sure he's okay. "Do you need anything else? A blanket or..."
"I don't need any help, Jenn." Sean replied incoherently as half of his eyelids drooped.
Her face darkened and sighed. "Clearly asking your opinion is not the best option right now."
She then turned and went upstairs to grab a blanket for Sean.
Sean sat there groaning as he felt a severe headache. When Lyla went downstairs, Sean had already fallen asleep on the sofa. She walked to him quietly and placed the blanket on his body gently and whispered softly in his ears. "Goodnight Sean." She went upstairs as she often turned to glance at him, making sure he's okay.
The next day, when Sean woke up from her couch, he was confused and scratched his head as Lyla went downstairs and complained. "You finally awake huh?"
Sean frowned, looking extremely confused. "What the hell, why did I fall asleep in your couch?"
She folded her arms and cocked her head. "You don't remember anything from the party?"
"What party?" He asked blankly.
"Seriously? Jenn's party, ring a bell?"
After a few seconds, Sean widened his eyes and yelled. "Jenn's! Oh my fucking god—"
"Keep your fucking voice down, Sean. My parents are still asleep!"
Sean scanned over the living room and replied. "Sorry."
She walked toward him and sat next to him. "So... do you remember what you did at the party?" She asked.
Sean thought for a moment then shook his head. "No, what did I do?"
"You...kissed Jenn, and—"
"What the fuck? I did?" He raised his voice but then lowered his voice when he realized her parents were still asleep. "I did?"
Lyla nodded as Sean smacked himself on the forehead. "Shit."
She patted him on the back and smiled. "You ought to be thankful it's Saturday today."
Sean sighed. "Yeah, but I still have a headache." He slowly got to his feet and dusted off the shirt.
He stared at Lyla for a moment then asked. "I slept here for the whole night?"
"Yeah man, since you were so wasted last night, I had to bring you somewhere to rest or you would have passed out on the street." She smirked.
"Okay, I have to go—" As Sean turned and took a few steps, he turned and glanced back at her, giving her a small smile. "Thanks, for taking care of me."
"No problem dude, just...don't drink that much next time, okay?" She smiled back.
He let out a small chuckle. "I promise." Then Sean turned and waved goodbye as he walked out the door.To be continued....
