As they arrived at McDonald's, they ordered food then found a seat near the windows and started to eat as Sean glanced at Alex often, when Lyla looked at Sean, he would turn away real quick and looked at her instead.
"So," Alex spoke as he put his hand on the table and smiled."wanna go to a bar and grab some drinks? We can recommend a very famous bar in NYC." He turned to look at Sean, who was absolutely spaced out, looking at his fries.
"What?" Sean raised his eyes to them and asked blankly as the two of them stared at him.
"What's the matter, Sean? You look spaced out." Alex chuckled and grabbed another fries and put it in his mouth.
However, Sean somehow felt a little ironic in Alex's tone. He tried to paste a smile on his face and replied.
"I—uh—yeah, sounds like a good plan."
Alex grinned brightly while Lyla noticed Sean's been acting weird and tried to exchange a concerned look with him. But Sean just looked down at his phone."Fuck yeah! That's what I'm talking about!" he turned and smiled at Lyla, they exchanged a genuine smile while Sean secretly rolled his eyes and continued his meal. Lyla turned to Sean and spoke.
"We're going to a karaoke bar, Seanie!" She giggled, tapping on the table, trying to make Sean happy.
Sean widened his eyes. Part of him was surprised at Lyla calling him 'Seanie' again, which he hadn't heard for quite a long time.
"Karaoke bar? You know I'm a terrible singer, right?" He replied while Lyla giggled as Alex spoke up.
"Wait, you're a singer? I've never heard of you before, you're not very famous huh?"
"That's...because I'm not." "And he has a terrible humor too" Sean thought.
Alex chuckled. "I'm just messing with you, bro."
"I know, nice one." He grinned and stared down at his phone again. "No, it's not. God I fucking hate his accent." He thought.
When they all finished the meal, they got up and left McDonald's as Sean caught a glimpse of Alex wrapping his arms around Lyla while they were walking on the street.
"Oh my god, Hanna really made out with a random guy at the party last night?" Lyla laughed.
"Yeah, she said she didn't remember anything, she was totally wasted last night." Alex chuckled.
"Obviously they are talking about her roommate, I hate how I can't join the talk, feels like I'm an outsider— although it's pretty much true." Sean thought as he walked beside them, checking out the street and the passersby.
"Sean." Lyla's sudden speak startled Sean as he turned to look at Lyla, who smiled at him brightly, usually Sean couldn't resist when she did that.
"What?"
"What do you want to sing at the bar?"
"Who says I'm going to sing?" He frowned.
"Uh...me?" She raised her brows. "come on, Sean! You have to sing something, let everyone hear your fucking angelic voice." She smirked as she lightly patted his shoulder.
Sean let out the first genuine chuckle today. "Ha, maybe? I will sing if you buy me a drink." He smirked.
She laughed. "Deal." She turned to look at Alex. "You heard that, Alex? Sean's gonna show us his angelic singing voice!"
Alex glanced at Sean and smiled. "That's fucking great! Looking forward to it dude."
Lyla giggled. "He has a beautiful singing voice."Sean rolled his eyes. The rest of the time, Lyla chatted with Alex mostly while Sean just trying to seem happy by enjoying the view. After ten minutes walking down the street, they finally arrived at the karaoke bar next to a small park.
