"Sean, I'm so sorry... We didn't know—"
"Oh, that's alright, she's a bitch anyway." Sean cut off Lyla as he said straightforwardly.
Alex let out a whistle while Lyla turned to frown at him then looked back at Sean. "But why didn't you tell me earlier?" She asked.
Sean was speechless, he didn't know what to say, he just froze there, staring at her.
He swallowed hard. "I don't know, just trying to find the right time I guess." Sean's eyes met with Lyla's, how he wished Lyla could throw all of the things away, including Alex, of course, just to fly back to Seattle to be with him.
Their eyes still stared into each other, Sean's eyes sparkling, as if he wanted desperately to hear what Lyla would say, I wanna be with you, Sean. Come on, say it out loud, say you want me too.
For a moment, Sean really thought Lyla said those words through her eyes, they were sparkling, just like Sean's."Alright," Alex cut them off as he put his arms around Lyla's. "time to go, babe. I have a basketball game later, come watch me play." He smiled at Lyla, who still stared blankly at Sean, seemingly lost in thought.
"Lyla?" Alex shook her arms, then she flinched and turned to look at Alex. "Oh—what?"
Alex raised his eyebrows. "Basketball game? Ring a bell?"
She paused for a moment then spoke. "Oh—yeah, right. My mind went blank for a second— I'll go with you, let me get changed first—" She stood up clumsily, almost bumped into Alex's face. "Sorry, Alex—" She said as she gave him a peck on the cheeks. "Be back in a sec—" she turned and smiled at the computer screen. "Bye, Sean!"
Lyla rushed into the bathroom as Alex sat down, facing the screen.
"Bye, Lyla—"
"Wait—" As Sean was about to leave the chat, Alex interrupted.
He turned to see, making sure Lyla hadn't come back, then he turned to face Sean."Dude..." Alex shook his head. "Get over her."
Sean froze, he had never saw this coming at all, he frowned, trying to act innocent.
"Excuse me?"Alex sat straight, darkened his face, he looked as if someone's dead. "Don't play dumb, I know you're secretly in love with her, I'll not allow that."
The air soon smelled deadly awkward, somewhat a little intense too.
"I swear to you... I'm happy for you two, I won't steal her away from you, I don't stand a chance anyway." Sean just regretted saying this out loud, he never wanted to give up. However, he felt Alex somewhat intimidating.Alex let out a chuckle, he suddenly didn't look so intimidating, Sean was really scared to see him like that.
"Good to hear—""Alex, I'm ready!" She came out of the bathroom, walking toward the computer.
"Lyla, you look stunning." He stood up and gave her a peck on the lips. They smiled at each other contentedly as Alex turned to look at Sean.
"Dude, we gotta go, talk to ya soon!" He grinned brightly and waved at Sean."Sure, have fun!" Sean waved then closed the screen, taking a deep breath and kicked the trash can beside him.
"FUCK!" He screamed, pressing his hands against his forehead, trying to let all anger in his body go out at once.He heard some footsteps outside, soon the knocks on the door.
"Sean? Are you okay? I heard you swore—" Daniel shouted through the door.
