Sean+Lyla Fanfiction (Life Is Strange 2)

The Hardest Goodbye

  After the school dance, Lyla became kinda standoffish toward Sean which made him a bit confused. However, Sean and Jenn became a 'thing' after the dance, they went out pretty often that their dates became Sean's daily routine as well. They became closer than before, Jenn would hold Sean's hands and Sean started to gain more confidence as he would make the first move sometimes. They were always together while in campus, holding hands, eating lunch together. Lyla, on the other hand, usually a lone wolf in campus, most of the time she studied alone, eating alone, taking school bus alone. Sometimes when her other friend Eric has time, they would take the school bus together. One day, when Jenn and Sean both got on the school bus, he met Lyla's eyes, who was on the bus as well with Eric sitting next to her. At first, Lyla had a poker face. However, when she saw Sean, she immediately flashed him a small smile. Sean smiled as well. But this time, they were like total strangers who barely knew each other. Since they seldom texted each other and talked to each other, they gradually grew apart. However, they would still text each other and Skype each other sometimes.

Two years past, they were preparing for the SAT. Lyla got applied to New York University while Sean got applied to Seattle University. Lyla immediately texted Sean the good news. However, she was thrilled and depressed at the same time since she had to leave Seattle, leave Sean for the whole four years. Her parents discussed with Lyla then decided she moved to New York and stayed at school dormitories.
Below was the texts from Lyla and Sean:
Sean: So it's true? You're moving to NYC?
Lyla: Hate to say this but yeah... I'll miss Seattle so much😭
Sean: Dude, don't cry! You made it to NYU, that's a good thing, I'm happy for you!
Lyla: But I'll miss Seattle so much
Sean: And?
Lyla: 😒 what do u want me 2 say dude?
Sean: You'll miss Seattle and...?
Lyla: I'll...miss you too?
Sean: you finally said it😉
Lyla: you still have Jenn, good for you. I have to study there alone
Sean: you'll get a bf there, don't worry about it
Sean:when are you leaving?
Lyla: next week

The next day, Sean called Lyla out at a park near their houses. Sean was standing there, holding a box in his hands while Lyla walked toward him.
"What's that?" Lyla asked, walking toward him.
He smirked and folded his arms. "Guess."
Lyla frowned while examining the box the looked up at Sean. "A Gucci sunglasses?"
Sean chuckled. "Not even close, do you really think I can afford that?"
"Not really, but I hope you do." Lyla replied immediately and smiled.
He then unfolded the box, inside was a black and white strapped watch, not very expensive but looked decent to Lyla.
"Oh my fucking god! Sean..." She picked up the watch and praised. "You really like me." She stared at the watch and smiled contentedly.
"So is that a yes? You like this watch?" He asked.
Lyla turned and faced him. "Of course, Sean. But... what for?"
He shrugged. "You're moving to New York so I thought I could give you something as a farewell present."
Her eyes softened. "Aww... Thank you, I really like this present."
He put his hands in his pockets then smiled back. "No problem dude, glad you like it."
Then the rest of the time they just stared at each other with warmth, Lyla stepped forward and gave Sean a big long hug, tears welled up in her eyes, so was Sean's.
Neither of them willing to let go of each other, her chin leaned on his shoulder, holding him even tighter.

  When the day finally arrived, Lyla had packed her stuff and got in the car with her parents. Before they drive to the airport, Lyla asked her parents to drive to Sean's place first, she wanted to say the last goodbye to him. However, when she got off the car and stood on the porch, ringing the bell. It was Sean's dad who opened the door.
"Hi Lyla, nice to see you again." He greeted.
"Hey, is Sean home? I'm about to go to the airport but I thought I could stop by for a few minutes—"
"Oh, Sean's not home, he's going out with his girlfriend again."
Her face darkened after hearing this. "Oh, do you know when he'll be back?"
He shook his head. "I don't know, probably after two or three hours, they always get home so late."
"Okay... then I'm going to the airport. Tell Sean that I've stopped by." She tried to paste a smile on her face.
"Of course! Take care Lyla, we will miss you."
"I'll miss y'all too." She gave him a watery smile.
Sean's dad leaned forward to give Lyla a big hug, while she still thinking about Sean, how she'll live without him for these years.
The She waved him goodbye and got in the car, going to the airport without seeing Sean.

When she got on the plane and sat on her seat, she broke down crying, tears shedding down her cheeks. She leaned her head against the windows and closed her eyes, trying to stop herself from thinking about Sean, only if she could really do it. But she failed, a numerous times... until she fell asleep.

I know this chapter is a little bit short, but I want to put the part when they both began their college years in the next chapter. So in this chapter I only wrote about the last time they seen each other before they went to college. I hope you guys enjoy this chapter and cry as hard as you could lol.
P.S. since I'm not an American, I have no idea how SAT worked and I don't know the whole exam systems, so if I wrote something wrong, please correct me and sorry about that.
