Enjoying her leisure time, Mrs Diggory drank tea in the front yard while reading letters from her husband.
Amos was doing fine but his brother wasn't at all but he's hoping for the best. Earl Diggory was suffering with a serious muggle illness called cancer. Amos was very close with his brother and he doesn't want to leave his side, which she understands. She misses him so much and wants to go and stay with him for a little while until her brother-in-law will be fully healed. She wanted to go to him but she didn't want to leave his son, yet he's already a grown up man, who already has a wonderful career and found the love of his life but the darkness is at large and she fears what will happen to her only child, her only son. Even if something does happen, she at least wants her last breath with her husband, with her son knowing how much she loves him and this was going to be a difficult decision.
A knock was heard, interrupting the woman's thoughts, which she was thankful for because she might turn mad at any minute.
"Mrs. Diggory? Am I interrupting you?" asked Camilla softly, her gaze at the woman who was keeping her letters in a wooden box.
"Not at all child. Would you like some tea?" said Mrs Diggory.
"Uhh I would kindly decline. Is it okay if I ask you about something, Mrs. Diggory?"
The woman gestured to the chair for her to sit down, "ask away dear." Camilla sat down and rubbed her hands together, trying to reduce her nervousness.
"I've been meaning to ask you about my... parents." Mrs Diggory then suddenly felt the air around her gone colder and the sky was starting to look gloomy. She stood up, grabbed her things and faced the young lady, "let's talk about this inside." She said, her voice low enough for only Camilla to hear. The sudden change of mood made her even more nervous than ever, standing up from her seat, she went inside the house and closed the door behind her.
"Cedric?"
The curly haired son appeared with a mug in his hand, "yes mum?"
"Please heat up some water again for my tea."
Being the obedient son he was, he did as he was told. The mother led Camilla to the couch, "do you know where i work?" asked the woman to Camilla, who shook her head.
"I was a former healer at St. Mungo's"
The mention of the hospital already sent Camilla goosebumps.
"I'm already retired. Cedric already has a job and can already manage himself without any financial assistance from us. I love my job, helping others, helping them to extend their lives but I don't have the ability to run those halls anymore. Few months ago, I went to the hospital to sign some things for my retirement. As the day was done, I went to the reception to say goodbye to my co-workers. When they were a bit busy, I saw a folder containing patients that needs heavy treatment. Being the curious woman I am, I took a peek and I saw two married couples who have the same condition.
I wasn't able to read any further because it was suddenly taken away from me, saying that it's a special case and no one should know about it. Only the ones who brought them there should be the ones able to know.
I couldn't remember further details but I definitely read the name correctly."
Camilla was listening intently, her heart rate racing. She didn't realise that she was gripping her pants, her body tense.
"Mum, please slow down." Cedric suddenly came, sitting beside Camilla and grabbed her hand for comfort.
Mrs Diggory frowned, "was it Calla and Darius Devonshire?"
