3 weeks later

"This the last box I'm carrying, where you want it at? My fucking arms are tired!" Daina complained. It didn't matter where I wanted my box to go because she dropped it on the floor.

I got my keys to my apartment yesterday and my best friends were helping me move into my place today. I was more than blessed to be able to get the apartment in only 3 weeks.

Saving for it wasn't hard at all and I did like living with Rocky. But I wanted a place of my own. Somewhere that felt like home to me. Somewhere that felt like I belonged. And most likely, a place where no one can kick me out against my own will.

Well not unless I don't pay my rent.

I haven't spoke to Braden since the day I had the miscarriage. That night I did reach out to him. I called and tried to FaceTime him but he never answered. Eventually, I gave up. Rocky said if I wanted to get over him quickly all I had to do was delete him on social media, not reach out, and go out at night. The more fun I had the less I would think of him.

I still thought about him but I was able to accept the fact that we were done.

"I was going to say in my room because that box has my clothes in it but it's fine. Are we still going out tonight?" I asked her.

"Hell yeah. Since when do I ever change plans? We going to our spot tonight because G herbo and Lil baby are hosting it." She tells me.

My face lit up when she said G herbo because I was a big fan of his. I guess you could say I had a thing for good niggas that rapped.

"What you wearing?" I asked her.

"I was going to wear my black jumpsuit. The one that makes my ass jiggle the most when I dance." She said.

We both laughed. "Yeah if celebrities going to be there I'm definitely cutting up." I told her.

"As you should. Do you want me to help you unpack?" She asked.

"It don't matter Raquan was supposed to slide and help me." I told her.

Raquan was the guy that Rocky set me up with. He was sweet and nice to talk to. I never talked to light skinned men but I gave him a chance. Mostly because I loved looking into his hazel eyes.

And the sex was good.

"Oh well excuse me. I don't wanna be a cock blocker so I'm grab my bag and go." Daina laughed.

I rolled my eyes and playfully pushed her shoulder. "Leave me alone. Let me try to move on."

"Are you guys official? Rocky told me all he does was talk about you all the damn time." She tells me.

I shrugged. "He's nice and he's a lawyer. But I don't know if I want a relationship anytime soon."

"You still waiting for Braden?" She asked.

"No." I said rolling my eyes.

"Mhmmm. Anyways I'll catch you later." She said. We hugged each other goodbye and she leaves.

I unpacked most of my clothes and hung them up in my walk in closet. I couldn't believe I had my own place! And a job. It all seemed so unreal.

Mostly because Braden took care of me since we first got together. I finally got a taste of what it felt like to be independent and I loved it.

"Yo babe." Raquan called out entering my apartment.

"I'm in here." I told him. I could hear him come into the room but he didn't say anything which is what made me turn around.
