Jordyn was sat, her head in a book, in the canteen. She was oblivious to the world as she devoured the words on the page. She was always stuck in books. They were a truth that made her realise that good things will happen.

Over the years she had been reliant on these pieces of people's heart to escape. These worlds saved her from herself, her prisons and her misconceptions. They were the one constant in her life, she couldn't think where she would be without them.

Her thoughts were interrupted by Kurt throwing himself down on the chair next to her. There was shock and disbelief in his face as he turned towards the ginger. Reluctantly, she put closed her book, turning her body to face him.

"You are not going to believe this." He declared, taking a fry from her plate.

Letting out a sigh, Jordyn asked, "Believe what?"

"You know the choir leader?" Kurt asked, only to receive a shake of the head. "Well, he runs the Glee Club here."

"Is that the Sandy guy?" Jordyn questioned, Kurt nodding his head. "He seems really," her face contorted as she tried to find the right word to describe him, "unprofessional."

"He is." Kurt stated. "In fact, he got fired today."

"Fired!" Jordyn exclaimed, causing the few tables around them to turn. "Sorry, fired?"

"Someone went to Figgins and told him that she saw him touching the lead singer." Kurt explained, causing Jordyn to look confused at him. "By some kid, I mean the biggest Diva at McKinley."

"I have been here for a total of three weeks Kurt." Jordyn shook her head at the thought of her knowing who he was on about.

Eating more from her tray, Kurt retorted, "Yeah, but on your first week you got into a fight with Sue Sylvester. That makes you either a Goddess or an outcast."

"I think we know which one of those I am," Jordyn scoffed looking at their relatively empty table.

"Yep, you Jord, are a Goddess." Kurt smirked, causing a laugh to leave Jordyn's mouth. "Hey, people may not sit next to you, but I've seen you in the corridors. Everyone stops you."

"Well, that is such a reassurance." Jordyn smiled, looking over Kurt's shoulder.

Behind him, walking in her direction, was Mike. It wasn't difficult to tell that Jordyn had fixated on the attractiveness that the boy was coated in. In fact, Kurt didn't have to question why her eyes had glazed over.

Perhaps, the friendship and connection between the two of them was purely physical. It may have been routed in their aesthetics. However, they both knew that in Spanish they were each other's saving grace. Whether it be socially or academically, they were a support in the lesson.

Before he could break her gaze, Mike had spotted Jordyn and made his way in her direction. He matched Jordyn's smile as he made eye contact with her. Both of them were aware that there was no more than a simple friendship. They were in different social circles.

"You coming to the game next week?" Mike asked, standing before Jordyn.

Raising her shoulders, Jordyn questioned, "Why should I?"

"Because it's the first game of the season," Mike replied turning away to join the team table. Before he was out of earshot, he turned back adding, "And I thought you would appreciate the idea of seeing Finn get tackled."

"Now, Mike, you know me so well." Jordyn called after him as he walked away. The duo once again shared a smile before they both returned to their reality.

Noticing that there was a smile on Jordyn's face that wasn't there before, Kurt shook his head causing the red head's face to turn as bright as her hair. She wasn't used to getting those looks. She had always been the quite girl who only piped up when she sang or danced.

"Jord, you are so hooked." Kurt declared as he picked more food from her tray. "Are you going to eat any of this?"

Sorry that this has taken so long. I have been so busy. It upsets me to think that I have left this so long, but life gets in the way.
