There was nothing that could beat a movie night with friends. Jordyn had filled her weeks with them when she had lived in LA, but, where her mother had worked at the movie theatre, those had insisted of watching the latest releases for no cost.

Before Matthew and Jordyn were in their final year of middle school, they had spent about half their life in the back row of the Cinema complex. Throughout the years, they had watched every Harry Potter almost as soon as it came out, as well as each of the Hunger Games Movies.

However, for the first time since she had left LA, she didn't miss the moments that used to exist. Sitting in the back of a movie theatre eating stale popcorn was nothing compared to how it felt sitting on her couch with her best friend, eating Ben and Jerry's by the tub full.

Perhaps is was the increased similarities between the two friends that had caused her heart to swell more during this movie night. While JFK emphasised the arts, Jordyn's friends weren't as in love with musicals in the same way that she was. However, Kurt and she shared a never-ending love for the depth of a Broadway musical.

Even watching the movie version of The Last Five Years Jordyn's heart was hit by the tone of the music and the strength of the score in general. They had barely gotten halfway through and Jordyn had burst into tears and paused the movie to rant at Kurt multiple times.

Unlike her mother would when they watched movies together, Kurt didn't get annoyed. He just listened. Until it was his turn to look her way and interrupt the film, "I got thrown in the dumpster again."

Letting out a sigh, Jordyn pressed paused and turned to him as he declared, "I feel like nothing is ever going to change, I don't know how much longer I can put up with it Jord."

Crossing her legs underneath herself, Jordyn turned to her closest friend with a sympathetic look on her face, "Was it the same guys as last time?"

He nodded before adding, "I don't know what I did wrong? Why do they hate me so much?"

"Because, Kurt, you can be yourself." Jordyn explained, reaching out to take his hand in hers. Letting out a deep sigh, Jordyn pulled her eyes from his, "I saw you earlier Kurt, by my aunt's office."

Sucking in a deep breath, Kurt shook his head saying, "I don't know what you're on about."

"You don't need to say anything to me if you don't want to but remember that I am here Kurt. No matter what." Jordyn explained, nodding her head as she let a small smile onto her face. Deciding that she didn't want to make Kurt awkward by prolonging the conversation, Jordyn switched back to her usual carefree tone, "I was thinking that we should both join something."

"What do you mean?" Kurt asked, wiping the tears, thankful that the conversation had changed.

"I need to get out of this new city funk, and we could both do with more friends." Jordyn laughed, causing Kurt to look at her confused. "People my talk to me, but I only really have you and Tina. So, I suggest we both sign up for the Glee club."

Nodding his head, Kurt leaned on Jordyn's shoulder causing her to flinch slightly before smiling, "And, it's not just me and Tina. You have Mike too."

Without saying anything, Jordyn pressed play on the film once again, her cheeks turning red as she watched in silence. She couldn't speak about Mike without thinking about half of the embarrassing things she had said the night before. IN her mind were the amount of times she had laughed too loudly or when she replied too quickly to him.

As they watched the musical, never once stopping it from playing, Jordyn watched as Cathy fell helplessly in love with Jaime. Despite knowing the ending, seeing how beautiful the couple was at the beginning gave Jordyn hope. She had never been a fan of happy endings, she thought that they were unrealistic, however, since moving, she had begun to realise that maybe things did get better.

However, the bitter sweetness of the ending made her burst into tears once more. Watching the end, even if it was for the best Jordyn felt the tears filling the rims of her eyes. The film showed real life, perhaps that's why is wasn't so popular.

"How have I never seen this?" Kurt questioned, breaking the silence before taking a spoonful of Jordyn's ice cream.

Normally, she would have been annoyed beyond belief, but, still having the emotional turmoil of the movie within her heart, she couldn't find the strength to fight him. Reaching for the remote, Jordyn stopped the film from repeating, despite her want to watch everything unfold again.

"Nothing hits me quite like Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan's closing of The Last Five Years." Jordyn declared, her eyes welling with tears as she pointed at Kurt with her spoon.

"Jordyn, I have been biting my tongue, but you need to tell me what happened yesterday." Kurt declared, raising his brow at the copper-haired girl, whose cheeks then began to glow red. "Now you really need to talk."

Letting out a breath, Jordyn crossed her legs underneath her and turned to her best friend before raising her shoulders, "Nothing happened."

"Now is not the time to be cautious of my feelings," Kurt groaned, watching Jordyn's face for a sign of what had happened the day before. "I need every little detail."

Shaking her head, Jordyn pulled her cheek between her teeth for a second, "I'm not being cautious. We went for coffee and then he drove me home. We aren't even really friends, Kurt, are you going to accept that?"

"I think the real question is: when will you accept that it isn't true?" Kurt declared, causing Jordyn to shake her head and look down. "He's a football player Jordyn, he could go for coffee with anyone. He chose you."

Meeting Kurt with her eyes, Jordyn sighed as she realised, he was telling the truth. Mike could have done a million other things before the game; he chose to get coffee with her. Maybe, it was going to be the start of something for both of them. That was, if he still spoke to her after she joined Glee.

Jordyn and Mike who? The real duo is obviously Jordyn and Kurt.
