The sound of my heartbeat echoed through my ears. My body was like ice. The smoke coming out of my mouth only made me feel ten times colder as I shook violently. Where was I? I tucked back the wet hair that was sticking to my face and got up looking around. I was at an alley, it was nighttime and all of a sudden my heart got a sense of loneliness. Why am I here? I stumbled on the wet concrete. My feet were bear and my cloth were soaking wet even though it wasn’t raining. I swallowed when I saw an empty street, no signs, no cars, and no lights. The only light I got was from the full moon above me. What is this place? I started running till an awful smell stopped me in my tracks. The smell of rotten meat and blood, I scrunched my noise in disgust. I knew this smell; it reminded me of the butcher shop. I turned around trying to get away before I throw up but stumbled on something and fell backwards. Closing my eyes I waited for the hard impact of the wet ground on my skin but nothing.
Opening my eyes my body trembled with fear. What I had tripped on was an arm of a dead body, a dead body that I was laying on. I screamed getting up and rubbing my arm in fear of the blood that was on it. I took a deep breath that I held in as I looked at the dead man in front of me. He was in his thirties. Probably going to work, I judged from his grey suit. His skin was blue and I looked up holding my tears trying not to think about what will happen to his family. My eyes widened with shock and my mouth fell open when I looked back to the street I came from. The man laying in front of me wasn’t the only dead body. Hundreds of dead bodies laid on the ground, women, men, and even kids. My heart started beating faster and my breathing got rapid. The sound of thunder made me jump as rain started to fall. The whole place turned red. The moon turned red.
“No…” My voice was horse and came out in a small whisper. My teeth stuttered and in a split second the rain turned into blood. I looked down at my hands that were covered with blood. The skin on them started cracking like broken glass I shook my head and took a step back. “No… No, no, no, no!” I screamed with all my voice.
“Caramel! Kid wake up!” I shoot up straight into Leo’s chest.
“Shh, it was just a bad dream.” He said while patting my hair. I clutched into his shirt crying like the kid he always called me. “It was just a bad dream, it was just a bad dream.” He repeated in a soft voice. I pushed him away slowly looking at him half smiling while whipping the tears.
“Sorry, did I wake you up?” He shook his head no.
“I was in the kitchen getting some water when I heard you scream.” The moment he finished his sentence Alex, Liam, and Chris came into the room.
“Are you okay?” Alex came next to me inspecting my face and body to see if I was hurt anywhere.
“She’s fine, just a bad dream.” Said Leo and I nodded my head.
“Sorry to scary you guys.” My hand was shaking but Leo put his hand on mine giving me comfort.
“Go wash up and get ready for school its almost time anyways.” Leo said. He gave me a dazzling smile; his white straight teeth were stunning. I got up and waited for them to leave the room so I can get my cloth and wash up. I was going to see Emily today. I sighed as I locked the door watching Alex leave giving me one last worried look.
“Stop worrying about me!” I yelled through the closed door. I was fine really! She betrayed me, big fucking deal, people get betrayed everyday right? RIGHT! Ugh, I messed up my hair making it into a wild mess as I entered the bathroom. Shower time, I wiggled my butt trying to cheer myself up. I wasn’t going to let her get to me; she will never get to me!
