"Huh?" I frown. "How much would what be?" I ask confused. Hayley stands in the door way just staring at me. I put my hands on her shoulders and i walk around her. I turn to face her once I'm in. She closes the door and turns to face me. "What are you doing here?" She asks with her voice a little bit more high pitched than usual.
Her voice always does that when she is nervous. "Well i finally had the courage to talk to my other boss and she said i could come back to get my stuff. She said she would pay for my tickets and all so i came back" I explain. Hayley nods. "Oh ok" she says now in her normal voice.
"But why did you ask me how much would it be when i came in?" I ask. Hayley gives me a puzzled look. "Oh! Um it's because I'm ordering food and i thought you were the delivery person" hayley says. I nod. I walk to the room that we share and grab a suitcase. I start to fill it up with my belongings.

I throw on something casual just because I'm not sure if she thinks this is a date or just a friendly thing. I mean, I personally would love it to be a date but I'm not sure how she would feel about it. I try to keep my makeup as natural as possible. I start applying lipstick when i get a message from hayley.
From Hayley: marla is back! Dont come right now! I will tell you when you can
To hayley: when did she come back?
From hayley: this morning she just appeared out of nowhere knocking at my door. But i will see you later, i have to go
I put my phone away and let out a big sigh. What am i supposed to do now? Watch TV? I don't know. Eat? Nah, I'm already eating in a bit. Sleep? I might end up oversleeping. Ugh! I don't know. I'm just going to go watch something.
◇●◇●◇hayley's pov◇●◇●◇
I see marla come into the living room so i quickly tell kehlani i have to go. "Ok. I have to go now" marla says. She comes up to me and is leaning in for a kiss. I dodge her kiss and instead kiss her cheek. I pull away and smile at her. She frowns. "I will um see you in a few days then...i love you" she whispers the last part and heads out the door.
For some reason it didn't feel right kissing her. I pull out my phone and text kehlani telling her she can now come over. As I'm about to head to the kitchen there's a knock at the door. I sigh and walk to the door.
The delivery guy...of course. I pay him and i grab my food. I head back to the kitchen and i set the food down. I take out plates and cups and set them in the living room. Once again, the door. I groan outloud. And i swing open the door aggressively. "Who is it?" I ask harshly. I shut my mouth once i see lani standing there with her eyebrows raised.
"Oh, hey lani! Come in" i say as i open the door more so she can come in. "So you groaning? And opening the door like that? And talking like that? If you don't want me here then shit...I'm out" she says as she turns around. My first reaction was to grab her wrist and pull her back.
"I didn't go through all of this just so you can walk away. Now come on" i say as i pull her inside. "Nice place" i hear her say from behind. "Thanks" i simply say. We sit on the couch and she looks around. "You want to choose what to watch?" I ask. She shrugs. "You can go ahead."
I shake my head. "Well i got nothing in mind. Here" i place the remote in her hand and she takes it. Damn does she look pretty. She isn't even wearing anything that is attention grabbing but she is still looking gorgeous. I hear her thank me. "What?" I frown. "I said thanks for complementing me. You don't look so bad yourself even if it's casual" she smiles as she keeps on scrolling.
"I said that out loud?" I practically yell. "No...i read your mind" lani says while making explosion noises and using her hands. I laugh. "So i look pretty huh? What about me makes me look pretty right now?" She asks. I instantly start to get flustered. "I- um..your- thing..." I stutter not being able to form words. My voice got a little high pitched now. Shit!
Kehlani raises an eyebrow and bursts out laughing. "My thing? What thing?" She presses on. I gulp. "So have you chosen a movie yet?" I ask quickly. She smiles and nods. Thank god. I nod. "Good. Just um grab anything you want to eat" i say. She nods and thanks me.
After a few minutes into the movie she turns to face me. "What exactly is this?" She asks. I frown. "What do you mean?" She looks around and faces me again. "All of this. THIS" she says as she points to the food and us. "A date? A friendly meet up? Just something nice? What is it?" She asks.
"I-um..." i stutter. I finally take a deep breath. "I'm not sure, ok? I haven't broken up with marla yet and i don't want to hurt her even though i will. And i like you a lot but we need to find a way to solve all of this" i finally say. "Why don't we just tell her already. Like you said we will hurt her, being sooner or later so might as well just do it now" kehlani says.
It's really easy to just say out your plan but it's nit easy doing it. It's not easy telling a person who has always been there for you that you cheated on them and that you want to be with another person. It's not easy telling them that you cheated with their other bestfriend.
Am i even a bestfriend if i did this to her?
"Make it a date. A complex date."
We get interrupted by pounding on the door. "I'll get it be right back" i say. Lani smiles and nods. I get up and walk to the door checking to see who it is first. Are you serious? Why is she still here!
I run towards my living room and i quickly tell lani to hide. "Take your food! And hide in...uhh...my bedroom! Go!" I tell her. She does as i say and i head towards the door. The pounding starts to get aggressive. "I'm coming!" I yell a little annoyed. I swing open the door and see marla standing there. "I came back to get something. I forgot something" she says.
She stops and looks around the room and her eyes look at the table set in front of the couch. "Why is there 2 cups?" Marla asks confused. "I wanted 2 different drinks. You know i haven't tasted it yet" i answer quickly. If it weren't for lani choosing a different kind of drink i don't know what would have came to mind. She nods and walks towards my room.
Fuck...

I hear footsteps coming closer and i quickly get inside the bathroom. Trying to be a little more careful i get into the shower. I hear someone walk inside. Shit! I forgot to close the door. I peek through the curtains and see marla standing in front of a mirror. She takes a deep breath.
"You can do this! They accepted hayley so you can come out now. Go public with your relationship" she says talking to herself. Go public with the relationship? Why? Oh come on marla! You always gain confidence at the wrong times!
After a few minutes she walks out and i sigh in relief of her presence gone. I step out the shower with my plate still in my hands. "I forgot to bring it!" I hear marla yell. She runs back bursting through the door running in. I freeze and she walks back looking into the bathroom. "Lani?" She questions.
Good job kehlani! Way to go...always fucking up things. I look down at my plate and back at her. "Want a bite?" I ask awkwardly with a smile. Cool move lani...cool move.
