While Callie was looking at the map on the side of the bus stop sign, I called my mom, Stef. She freaked out like I knew she would but she was glad I called. I told her the address and she said she'd meet us there. I didn't tell Callie I called my mom because she'd probably get really angry.

On the bus ride, I took the chance to 'get to know Callie better' but I already knew everything.

"So, tell me about you, Callie." Our knees were touching and we both had our hands in our laps.

"Well, guardian angel, don't you know everything already?" Again with that attitude I adored so much.

"Just humor me."

She began to tell me stories about her and Jude, some of which I didn't know. But as she told me she could play the guitar, I just smiled and thought back to our jam sessions.

"This is really weird." She laughed a little.

"What?"

"I just.. I feel like I've known you for years."

I put my hand on her knee, "I know exactly how you feel." I looked into her beautiful eyes.

The rest of the bus ride there was filled with more stories and laughs. I felt like I did back when Callie and I were sneaking around. And it felt great.

We got there and my mom was already there. Callie was angry but I told her that she must've tracked my phone.

I distracted the guy as Callie tried to get Jude out of the house but once again he pulled his gun. Thank god my mom was right behind Callie. She put him in handcuffs and called the local police.

"Hey Jude, how are you?" I sat next to him on the curb.

He smiled, "I'm better now that I'm with Callie." He had his back pack on his lap.

"Hey Skippy.. My brother used to have that same back pack."

He looked up at me and smiled again, "Cool."

I stood up and walked over to were my mom was talking to Callie. They stopped talking when I got over to them and Callie walked towards Jude.

"Hey, B," I turned to my mom, "This was a stupid idea, on your part.. But I'm glad you called me."

She went on to lecture me and tell me how badly this could've ended. Her phone rings and she walked as the cop cars stopped near us. I walked over and sat with Callie and Jude while the cops spoke with my mom and put their foster dad in the back of the police car.

My mom walked back over to us once the local police left, "C'mon, guys. If we leave now, we'll still make it to Brandon's scholarship final."

We did make it back in time. Everyone, but Mariana, was there, even my dad. They gave me some story about how Mariana wasn't feeling good but I knew exactly where she was. She was with Ana.

I didn't win the scholarship, but I didn't mind. I got to help Callie and Jude get reunited, I got Callie to smile.

The next day at school, I walked up to the music room during lunch to see Callie sitting on a stool, staring out the window.

"Hey." I shut the door behind me.

"Oh, hey, sorry, I can leave. I just try trying to avoid the whole 'who do I sit with at lunch' fiasco?" She got up.

"No, no, it's fine." I sat down at the piano and she sat back down. I reached over for the guitar and handed it to her, "Show me what you got."

She smiled and took the guitar. She started strumming, "I can't remember anything."

"It'll come back to you." I looked up at her.

After lunch, I caught up with Mariana in the hallway, "I know you saw Ana last night."

She turned to me, "Did Jesus tell you?"

"No, I just.. Trust me, Mariana, that woman is bad news for our family."

"What's the worst that could happen?" She turned to walk away.

She has no idea.

"Just.. promise me you won't see her again." I grabbed her arm.

"Why should I? She's my birth mother!" She whipped her head around to look at me.

I looked at her, sympathetically, "She's a crack head.. and like it or not that woman is just using you."

She pulled her arm away, "I'll see you at home." She walked down the hall.

Callie walked up next to me, "What was that all about?"

I looked at her, "Mariana is just.. stubborn."

"You can say that again." She laughed and I smiled at her.

After the last bell rang, I waited outside for Callie, like I told her I would. I was staring at the beach when someone tapped my shoulder.

"Hey baby." I turned to see Talya.

"How many times do I have to tell you-" Then it hit me, Talya thinks that just the other day we were fine. I stayed silent for a couple seconds then Talya started kissing me. I pushed her away, "We're over, Talya. I'm sorry."

She freaked out and made a scene. I felt bad but it's Callie that I want. I walked away from her and saw Callie walking home without me. I ran up to her but she didn't look at me.

"You didn't have to leave your girlfriend to walk home with me." She looked angry.

"She's not my girlfriend. I mean, she was.. but she's crazy so I broke up with her."

"Oh." She was looking down but I swear I saw her crack a smile.

"Yeah, there's someone else I have my eye on."
