I found myself speechless.  My eyes turned as big as saucers, wide and full of surprised excitement.

I pointed to myself in awe. "You...wanna play...with me?" I asked with caution.  He giggled and nodded his head rapidly.

"Yeah!" He said as he made a hand motion for me to follow him.  My feet seemed glued to the sidewalk.  This had never happened before.

At school, I had no friends.  I didn't even have siblings.  I started to feel a bit nervous, but I took in a breathe and took one step forward.  Then another.  And another.

The boy didn't seem to notice my nervousness.  He came near me and grabbed my hand. "Well, come on!'  He laughed as we both started to run to a nearby park.  His mother lightly laughed and walked behind us.

I finally seemed to be able to choke out two words. "Thank you."

"You're welcome!" He replied as we started to run on the dewy grass.

"What's your name?" He asked me, tilting his head a bit to the side.  I stumbled a bit before saying, "I'm (Y/N)."

He smiled and I asked him for his name.  "I'm Izuku." He said happily as we reached the sand of the playground.

~

The playground had two yellow slides, a pair of swing sets, a sandbox, and a seesaw.

Izuku quickly ran up the stairs to the nearest slide and put his All Might figure on it.  "Three...two...one...GO!" he yelled as it slid down the slide in record speed.  It landed with a light "plop" on the sand.

Izuku then wrapped his hands around the bar above the slide and swung off it to race down.  He practically flew off and landed hard on the sand.  He got off to dust himself and then said, "Your turn!"

I put my All Might figure on the slide and gently pushed it.  It didn't go as fast as Izuku's, but I still imagined it flying as well.  When it neared the end, Izuku caught it tenderly and motioned for me to come down.

At the time, I was currently wearing faded blue shorts, a black T-Shirt, and tennis shoes with two holes in them.  These were one of the most decent outfits I had.

"O-ok," I said as I dusted off the slide's flat surface.  I closed my eyes and let go of the bar above me.  Cool wind whipped through my hair and the turns of the slide made me giggle.  I landed softly on the ground and Izuku lent me a hand.

"That was...fun." I said.  I was naturally a socially awkward person, but being around him made me feel... better.

As if, there really were nice people in the world.  And that I was not alone.
